Question Destroyed chain rollers..replacement ideas??

My chain completely wore my chain rollers in half. I don't know if my chain was too lose or it was because my foot pushed so hard against the chain guard and got them out of alignment. I also ruined my chain guard, once again because my foot pressed the guard into the chain where it goes to the pinion gear. Any ideas on replacing this stuff and remedies so it does not happen again??

Thanks,

Ross

Wow...quick replies dudes...I did not know ADA had them thanks for the tip. Yeah I think my chain stretched a bit and got too loose. Any ideas how I can keep the chain guard from pressing into the chain?? I try not to press too hard but it just seems to happen.

Thanks again guys...yeah thats what I was trying now..putting some washers between the guard and the rollers. My guard is really jacked-up from the chain/gear tearing a small hole in it and from me bending the hell out of it to try to keep it away. I will need a new one.

I remember someone saying they had bearings for chain rollers. Anyone have any experience with such a setup? Mine are almost toast and i'm looking for some type of upgrade. How do the delrin ones hold up?

I had the same problem with the plastic guard. I made a new from aluminum using the plastic one as a template for the mount holes. I also extended it forward so I could use the threaded hole just forward of the clutch in the eng. case, made a little L-angle bracket to attach at the forward end , on the top of the aluminum I bent it 90 degrees for some strength and it is holding up very good . looks kind of like a bicycle guard but my chain isn't rubbing and my foot can push hard on it with-out worries.

i had the same problem with my bike. all i did was put some washers between the gaurd and rollers and it works fine. as for the rollers and the new gaurd im pretty sure you can get them from midsouthminimoto.com as well as many other parts.

i used some old fuel line in place of the roller. just cut it to fit. has worked wonders ever since and, was inexpensive as well as quick.

seeing how they just get chewed up by the chain anyways its ideal in my opnion. you can get 2ft of 1/4 in or thinner for like 2 or 3 bucks.

I just took mine off, the chain only touches the metal bars now when the bike is sitting still so that doesnt do much. I was tired of how they rattled and made alot of noise.

because all the chain guard does is protech your feet from hitting the chain and my feet dont even get close to the chain...
