| The Dual Stage Reed Review Alright, this is all about Badazz dual stage reed installation in case youve missed my other threads...
Lets get started. Okay, first take off all of your intake side...and take out the reed block. Then remove the two screws holding the stock metal reed in. After that, place the thicker reed with the hole in it where the metal reed used to be, and put the thinner reed on top of that. Ok, now place the limiter back on with the two screws. Beware of over tightening...as these screws are small and can strip easy. Now place the reed block in. DO NOT PUT EVERYTHING ELSE BACK ON YET! Now is the trick part. Push the reed block where it would normally be against the crankcase. Now pull it out, you will notice the reed was "pinched" by the case. The solution is trimming the reeds. Do this until there is no more "pinching." Then, put your whole intake side back on. Not much tuning is required. GO have fun.
Performance results/numbers: Max Rpm was estimated at 11200 rpm. Entire powerband was stronger. This was tested on a bike with only a rocket key and a walbro carb. Speed: 6 62 gearing was 35.1 mph. 7 62 gearing was 40.6 mph
this kit really does not lessen low end at all, and after the powerband almost creates another mini one in which the bike keeps on revving.
-Later, Ride safe and test in closed course and or parking lot. or if you are daring enough, your own neighboorhood. BUt i strongly do not recommend that. |
