Thumbs up easy pinion gear replacement (which size works best for you)

Using a gator grip socket on the pinion gear and an oil filter wrench on the clutch drum. makes light work of this. no vise or vise grips that distroy the drum or pinion gear works pretty slick. Dont forget to use lock tight on the threads of the pinion gear I perfer the red over the blue. I ve had the blue back out on other project the red just works better.

10 tooth you may need a car to get you up to speed the 9 tooth is slow of the line but ones luging on the motor 55 mph crazy fast hates hills small rises in the road slows way down. Rocks and pot holes will eat you for breakfast at this speed.
If your just playing around with getting more speed on flat open areas the need a little down word grade help it a lot
= 9 tooth pinion gear is great I can reach speeds up to about 50 mph starting off sucks way bad but dam its fast not very practial for tracks hills fun to mess with you decide . I m using a fabericated pipe and timing key (But be careful the timing key adds more heat to your motor it may make your bike fry its pistion if you are not careful)& 66 tooth rear sprocket.
= 8 tooth slow start but ok reachs speeds up to 40
= 7 tooth nice for tracks with quite a few straights in it
I got the hole gear set love it

pinions???

Great idea!!! anyway, what bike you have?? I have a 910, 5 inch weels, 6/62 and it did a CLOCKED 39mph with my fat *** on it. I was thinking of going to a 7, or 8. I have a speed calculator, and it says 43mph with a 6 tooth, 50mph with a 7, and 58mph with an 8 tooth. on my setup, and it seems close enough...
