listen i kno many people hap probably answered this question my mx3 is never running right when i got the bike the back was cracked and it took like an hour to start and i have hade it for like 4 to 5 months.when i ride it does the weardest things when i run it with out warming it up it goes pritty far but then slalls sometimes when i ride i can feel it about to shutt off so i ride and it cutts off and out of nowere with no throttle resparks and go right back on but when i give it just a little it dies i have adjusted that idle screw so many time to were the pont it runs the hole day to at least an hour then dies i have also cleaned the jets
but the main thing that gets mee soooooooo ****ed off it when i give it full throttle it ether boggs out n the weardest way or locks up or what ever it does it dies at full throttle please help im no expert but i kno what im doing that is the main reason why i wanted this bike it is a 47cc and when i do let it warm up and then put the choke down it still shutts off

C-clip is in the top of the carburetor. To change it:
-Unscrew the top cap of the carburetor - the part where your throttle cable goes into the carb - and gently ease out the throttle assembly..
-On the end of the cable, you have, from the top down:
--throttle cable
--throttle adjuster
--carb top cap
--throttle return spring
--throttle slide (the black cylinder)
--Inside the throttle slide, you have:
---Half-moon clip
---Throttle needle and c-clip
(**Take a picture of this assembly - it will help later for putting it back together.**)
-Compress the spring, and ease the cable out through the long slot in the side of the throttle slide. Set the cable, spring, and top cap aside for now.
-On your throttle needle, there are several notches. The c-clip is on one of them (probably the center of five). To richen the mixture on your fuel/air, put the c-clip on the next notch down. (I would suggest doing this inside a plastic bag with needlenose pliers. DO NOT LOSE THE C-CLIP - IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!!!) To lean the mixture out, move the c-clip up one notch.
Now, remember I said to take a picture of how the throttle assembly went together? Now's when you need to look at it, so you can put everything back together corectly.
-Insert throttle needle into throttle slide.
-Set half-moon clip over top of throttle needle.
-Compress spring in one hand, making sure cable is threaded through center of spring.
-Slide cable through slot in throttle slide, hook into bottom of slide.
-Put assembly back into carburetor, tighten down top cap.
**NOTE: The long groove must be on the petcock (right) side, the cut-out on the bottom of the throttle slide must be on the idle screw side (left). Otherwise, you'll get a BIG surprise when you go to start the bike ..... ***
No, you cannot "just" adjust the idle screw. If your engine is running too lean, it means you're not getting enough gas mixed in with the air. Since the oil is mixed in with the gas, you're short-changing your engine on oil, too, which can rapidly lead to premature failure and engine seizure.
Here's the score: All these bikes require regular maintenance - they're not just "start and go" bikes. There's two kinds of time on these things: ride time, and down time. Ride time is about 1/3 of the time, when you wheel it out, pour in some gas, yank the starter, and go for a spin. The other 2/3 of the time is down time, your maintenance time, where you have the bike up on the workbench, the exhaust disconnected, the engine out of the frame and in about fifty pieces on your tabletop. THIS IS NORMAL. If you don't know how to work on the bike, trust me, you WILL. It's part of the fun, working on your own bike, and all part of the sport.
Well, try it first, and let us know what happens ....
The c-clip is the one actually on the needle itself - the half-moon washer sits on top of that c-clip when the needle is in the throttle slide, and keeps it from moving. The spring sits on top of this washer.
just one more question can u use premium synthetic because i used only regular pensoil 2t when i got the bike i then switched to castrol 2t and now i am using premium synthetic that is why i wana kno if that is the right oil
Well, like I said previously, part of the sport is working on the bikes. You may not exactly know what you're doing now .... about a month, you'll be pulling that engine down and rebuilding it with your eyes closed.
You should be all right with that - a bunch of guys are running synthetics. Me, I guess I'm an old dinosaur, still running the real stuff ...
