Post Jetpro mounted on FF Cag Pics!!!

DOnt know if anyone posted pics on this recently...

Havent track tested it yet but it for sure added the most low/mid range power just like everyone has been reporting. Top end is only a little better then my "eBay poop pipe". Install was a breeze being in three peices. Welds from the header tube to flange are a POS and have to be grinded down on the inside to have anykind of smooth exhaust flow!!! Being that its in 3 peices it **** near leaks at every connection. Im going to have it welded as one peice but take note when you do this you will have to take off all of your bikes body peices and the pipe has to go in from the top!!!

RTV Hi Temp sealant at each joint is all it takes. Not welding it!

looks like its bare metal. i see rust spots. u should get 400 grit sand paper, sand it, then coat it with hi temp clear coat paint. nice pipe tho :-)

Thats what mine looked like when I got mine. I cleaned it up and then put clear hi temp paint on it. I went to a motorcycle shop and picked up what they called exhaust tape. Works well in sealing the conections. The nice thing about it is its not perminate and comes off easily when you take the pipe apart. I like mine just had to play with the needle setting a bit. 4th slot seemed to work best for me. Enjoy.

The pipe is available bare metal or nickel plated, he doesn't chrome them because chrome changes the resonant frequency of the pipe. The ones that I stock are nickel plated to prevent rust.

There are pressure pulses in the exhaust. Your engines exhaust ports are located in the barrel to let the pulses resonate back into the cylinder at the rpm where peak power is made. The pulses resonating back push unburned fuel mix back into the combustion chamber "supercharging" the cylinder. Any change in the pipe changes those frequencies. Changing the materiel of the pipe or giving it a very hard plating will change those frequencies as well. Real 2stroke race pipes on works bikes will almost always be unplated. Plating is only useful for rust prevention or looks.

You will also get better performance by sealing up the pipe at joints. Any gasses lost before the stinger will reduce the pulses.

I kinda had that problem and maybe would have. What I did was zip tied my throttle cable to the frame. Its pretty much tucked into the corner where the fram and gas tank meet. You shouldnt have to d!ck around with any heat tape. When you zip tie it dont zip it up all tight cause you want to leave play so the throttle cable does not bind when your on/off throttle. Hope this helps.

What type of bush is that you have on the rear mounting on the JetPro - looks like a blue nylon bush?

Not only looks good but Id wager will last longer than a crap rubber washer

Thanks

Yes, the Jet-pro's come with some sort of blue bushing, not sure what kind of rubber it is but it's quality stuff. Maybe Trojan or something....

Thumbs up

i have the exact pipe. I spoke to Dean at JETPRO and he pointed out that the bushings they use are top quality and spent the extra $ for that . and also helps the most with vibration. good investment for JETPRO.

Miniracer...im guessing you are trying to mount a HF Jetpro onto your FF Cag. The HF pipe would stick out the left side of the fairing.

IF I CUT OFF 1/4" TO 1/2" FROM THE HEADER PIPE I SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET MY FAIRING ON. IF I DO CUT I WILL WELD THE FLANGE TO THE HEADER PIPE THAT BOLTS UP TO THE HEAD. DEAN AT JETPRO TOLD ME THAT HE HAS HAD ONE OTHER PERSON THAT HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. HE SAYS ITS JUST THE STYLE BIKE.DIFFERENT GENERATION. I ALSO EXPLAINED TO HIM HOW MY PIPE RUNS AND HE SAID IT'S THE CORRECT PIPE. THIS SHOULDN'T HURT PERFORMANCE IN ANY WAY. "AM I CORRECT?"
