Mod Cateye or get cag??

okay i have a stock cateye (midbike) and it goes 27 MPH. i was wondering if i should make my cateye faster with mods or if i should get a cag to mess around with (for a stuntin bike)?? if i get a cag i will stunt with the cag (wheelies,stoppies,no hands, ect...) and keep the cateye all nice and clean and this will be my bike to impress people with. i can get a ff cag for 160ish. and a hf for 140ish. so mod CATEYE or buy ff cag?? The thing is i only have $30 so i will get a cag in 1 month or so (iam only 12 and have NO job)

1. sell the cateye
2. Get a cag
3. Get a helmet
4. clean your room

Your probably not going to get the performance you want for a stunting bike from bolt-on parts for your CatEye. So if your serious about learning to stunt, starting with a smaller (much lighter) bike is a good start.

You may find that the stock cag isn't stunt/race ready out of the box either...

My .02: Never Sell!!! Collect as many toys as you can! AND If you really want a fun little bike to stunt on, save your money a little longer and get a 50cc dirt bike.

i think i will keep my cateye and make it all PRETTY and get a cag for my stuntin and the bike i can fall off of. any ways i have a helmet. can yall give me pics of a ff and hf cag... i know ff cags have all farings and hf dont but i need to see which fairings are off and which is on also how much for a ff cag shiped i have a store near me and its 160ish

If u sell ur cateye u should be able to get a second gen hf for under 200 it should come stock with a bbk & will wheelie for u no problam.It will give u
more than enough speed to pull off stopies. I got mine for under 180.00.
If ur cateye is in good condition u can can definitly get 200.00 for it.

Throw that cateye in the trash can, lol sell it get $200, get a half fairing, I would get a used 2nd gen thats in good running condition for $100, and then you can save up a bit, get a bbk or 4 petal and that will give you a huge amount of low end if you bike doesnt have bbk on it...good luck

iam gonna KEEP my cateye but i want a cag. so i will save up for a cag.can yall post pics of ff cags and hf cags?? i want to know which fairings are missing on the hf cag and stuff so post pics. also whats a bbk.should i buy a ff/hf cag online or buy it from a store near me (160 total)

i asked my dad about a cag and here are his EXACT words "first u get a goped and then it gets stolen 3 months after u get it. then u BEG for half a year for a cateye and u get one and now after 2 months and LOTS of money for reapirs u want a cag... this is just TOOOO much for me.. u always want something new."

What should i do just mod my cateye??????

lots of money for repair? what was broke on yours? i guess u can mod your cateye.
what engine is in the x7? i was at the races this weekend in katy and one guy brought a x7 out to race. i got took by his top end. he done some serious work.

1 t off you got to tell him your a young tupid kid (like my self) who needs to keep his mind occupide or eles youll speend all your time on drugs < then he'll be happy to let you get a cag ...jp

x7's have 49cc engines. yah x7 stock has about 35 MPH in it. i went that fast on my friends (hot wheel speedo) i really want a cag. i was talkin to my mom and she was like "just buy cateye parts and then when we move to our new houes (royal oaks.... where all the RICH *** PEOPLE LIVE) then ask dad. dad is very mad right now"

so i will mod my cateye and then get a cag later. i think i will get a hf cag becasue ff cags are harder to get to the engine (so it seems) and i hate having to take of my fairings on my cateye to tune my carb.is 160 ish a good deal for a cag??

ya its a great deal, where u getting urs? harwin? ffcags arnt that much harder to take the fairing off. cateye on the other hand is a pain. probably because of the weight and amount of screws and stuff.

My whole fairing comes off with 4 screws. Its a piece of cake.

ohh 4 screws on the cateye to take one side of farings off its 11 screws PLUS u need to lit the bike off the ground so yah its about 15 inutes... i think ill get a hf i still like the look more but i will see later. iam gettin it on harwin at a store called "toys 4 less" and it is really good place. any other ideas on how to convince my dad. he just thinks "i always want somethin new and it will never end with the cag... then i will want a 4 stroke then a real motorcycle..."

In my oppinon the L7 is still a much better bike than the hf and I have both. take a look in my gallery. I have a pic of my l7 without the fairing on and it looks pretty mean. Thats how i ride it, i only put the fairing on once in a while when its inside. you can also just take the lower portion of the fairing off if you want the hf look.

ya, i definately agree with KJDK, L7's are way better built bikes and will probably last you longer. Also, the ff cags look WAY sexier, lol. BTW, just got my new 14/14 Dellorto and now my bike id haulin as$.

L7s are deffinately one of the strongest bikes around but the hf's frames are solid and if you know how to take care of them they will last forever,and any ways isnt speed and handling one the factors that make a great bike? beause in that department the l7 is lacking.mod out ur l7s ill mod out my sec. gen hf and smoke all of you

hhahhahh knolage... my L7 will rape ur hf anyday, i just tested the speed today and i hit ~45mph sucka, and it prolly handles better than urs too! lol
