My 2 Boost Ports ,Exhaust Port, and Piston Window Port!!!
Well, today around 1, I got the head and piston from boosted306, all I can say is ****! THOSE ARE SOME CLEAN PORTS!! They looked perfect, the ports look way better in real life, and the piston port window looks awesome...I was really amazed for the price of the parts for this quality....Well at 1:30 I start my job, I start adding the piston on the crank, and then the head, and tightening, and new gaskets, and then I went in the garage to install it in the bike....I pulled the rope to make sure everything was ok, and it sounded different then stock, but nice, I made sure nothing was scraping and nothing was banging or misplaced....then I added it in the bike at around 2:15, then after that, from 2:15, until 4:55, I was working on installing, putting the fuel line in, carb, clutch, exhaust was a pain, I had to take off the motor and slide it finally after talking apart almost 50% of the motor to make room for it, then I made sure everything was right, then I installed my tire back in, everything was stock except the ports....then I check, no gas....so no fuel, I try to start it to hear how it is when I pull it to make sure, and it sounds good, I filled up the tank later tonight around 8:30 PM, and then start it up...I got around 2 gallons, I mixed 45-50:1 ratio with klotz oil, then go mix it, shake the gas tank to make sure its good, put some in the tank, im scared I have a bad feeling about this head and piston about me not installing it properly, I pull the rope three times to let gas get in the dry motor,1 hard pull, JUST 1 , and ****, I HAD TO SAY OH $HIT!!! that thing was LOUD, IT WAS DEEP, IT WAS CRAZY, I gave it a little gas on the stand, ****n, THANK YOU boosted306!! WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! The best mod, I gave it a little gas when I was on it, it felt stronger then beofre, I tried lifting the front wheel, **** I almost fell on my a$$, I cant go out riding now, its 9 pm, and its to dark, and I dont want any problems...tomorrow around noon, I will go out again and start riding and tell everyone what they need so no bogging anywhere, I slightly had some bogging at full throttle, I need to rejet the carb and port it, I will try it out on the road tomorrow and see how it really is when its warmed up and ready, I cant wait until I add my fcc, ip2 pipe, all my ports and my little mods....THANKS BOOSTED SOO MUCH MAN, I dont think you can get anything more EASY to install, or anything more BETTER in performance for just a bolt on...THANKS
John

I will try to find a way to get it up, and rev it to top end to show everyone how good it is, im suprised, it sounds like I got a hot cam in a muscle car....AWESOME!!

Just be carefull when you get porting done by other people, a lot of the time they have not got a clue.
Pic1: Exhaust port, whoever did this should really consider chamfering around the ports so they don't act like knife edges. It will save the piston, rings and the lining, this is a well known proven fact.
Pic2: Boost ports, check out these boost ports, they look the part but have a look at the height compared to the transfer ports, do they don't even open? Also make sure the ring ends are not too close to the ports, if an end falls in the port it's game over.
Pic3: Piston, looks ok but, without a chamfer or bevel it's an oil scraper, pistons should have the port windows and bottom of the skirts radiused or shamfered.
Not being a hater, just offering advice, take it or leave it, it's free.
also, I just reread you post blah, The pictures make the ports look like it has sharp edges, when I got the head, it was pretty smooth, when I also saw the head in person, the boost ports were a little bit higher then the stock transfers...
John
I know what you mean about people who dont have a clue. Good thing i have been porting 2-stokes for over ten years!!
Honestly, the first porting i can remember doing was on a lawn mower, i kept practising until i stuffed it good and proper, I'm not afraid to admit i learnt the hard way. That was at least 20 years ago. I only wished back then i had someone around to guide me in the proper way to do things. If anyone feels i have made a mistake in my above post please let me know, i'd especially like to hear your comenets boosted306, you sound like you have a bit of experience.
I would just like to say my peace on porting. For over ten years i have ported Zenoha based 23cc-60cc engines for lages scale gas boats. These boats cost from $750.00-$4000.00. These engines turn a small 2 1/2 - 3 inch stainless prop at a constant 16.5-18k. I can assure you i have a clue. With boats that belong to customers that cost this much you don't have the luxury to make a mistake or make a paper weight out of a $500.00 engine. Thankyou very much for your imput but these things are non issues on any of my port work!

wow, It looks like you guys are starting a different thread...haha, I admit, I dont kno much about porting and dremel, I have no experience with that, thats why I sent my head to boosted306, and in return, I got a KickA$$ head and piston, to tell you the truth, this is one of the best mods I have done to a bike, I am really happy, for that price, Im amazed its this good, but performance wise, tomorrow we will find out, I need to fix my carb though, leaks from the petcock and a part under the petcock, no gasket or something, so I need to fix that asap to start riding...

boosted306, please don't take my post as a personal flame against you, it wasn't, I just wanted to point out some comon errors unskilled porters can very often make.
btw, I have a little Zenoah 23cc engine in the back shed that i have yet to check the port timing on, would you know what duration i should expect?
would there be any benifit from 3 boost ports? it looks like you could spread 3 out evenly in the space where there is two currently.
The only reasone three ports are not done is because of the piston ring pin locators. The side of the piston that faces a boost port has two ring locating pins. This is where the ring cones together and the easiest spot for a ring to expand if given the chance. If you put three port across that cylinder wall face, the ring will loose conat with the bore and open catch and break.
Hope this helps.

No problem just clearing any unasked questions....
If my memory serves me well i believe we were raising the timming to 170-175.
Looks good John, I mite just have to swing by and take your bike out for a spin.
Boosted, your work looks very well done! Blah, can we stop all the Bull's waste here? Remember "Flaming Online is like Running in the Special Olympics, if you win your still Retarded".
