My New and Improved Pocket Bike (56k warning!)

Well, I haven't ran my pocket bike all winter, and last time I ran it, it got fairly dirty. Since I was boored last Saturday, I decided to take it all apart and clean it. This is how it looked before I started cleaning:

http://img234.exs.cx/img234/2367/pict0284small5qb.jpg

http://img234.exs.cx/img234/5598/pict0289small7ux.jpg

After a decent amount of cleaning, getting into all the places I could with paper towels to get it looking nice, I got it at this stage:

During the cleaning, I found out that I had two metal peices on my bike that had broken. So, I whipped ou the JB weld, and fixed this extra motor mount thing. Both of the flat parts had cracked, so I had to rig up a funky dealio to hold it while it was drying.

And I had to fix my exhaust holder. The muffler on the bike fell off when I first got it, so I also cut down the broken metal end piece to make it look better. To re-inforce the JB weld I used some metal wire and a small peice of wood. Sorry about the slight blurriness.

And finally, while I had all the fairings off for cleaning, I figure'd I'd use some of my brother's left over "Metallic Black" paint to spice up the dull black coat of the fairings. I think it really makes the bike look alot better and more unique. So here's the beauty, all cleaned, fixed, and painted.

Here's an up-close pic of the front to show the metallic paint better.

I hope you enjoy, and sorry if it took a while to load!

Bike looks nice. I did that to my bike a while ago since it was so dirty, and now its dirty again. Most of it is from leaky gaskets and pipes and stuff, but thats all fixed now.

Thanks for your compliments guys!

I just wanted to add, that if anyone is interested, eventually I'd like to trade this for a Super Pocketbike. It's certainly nice, I would just feel so much more comfortable on it if it was larger.

Yeah, luckily when it cracked it just cracked on the sides, but not in the middle. Right now it's super glue'd shut and it seems to be holding fairly well, better than any of the other stuff I've tried.

yeah man, great job! i would like to see other people do more write ups like this.
i think i have the same bike. diff. colors but the frame and trim looks the same. does yours say sq on the triple tree? mine does. i have the same broke motor mount and tail pipe holder but mu pipe seems to have pulled like almost an inch away from the bracket. i bought it used and i think the were picking it up in the rear by the pipe.
does your bar that goes down, from the handle bars, to support the front fairing rattle real bad? mine does. i need to make some kind of boot for it.
