Re: New 2 stroke import rules.

Wrong. The diesel in the US is sulfer free since last year and about 90% of cars in europe are diesel. They made a 60mpg car their and it wont be here any time soon seeing how we only have 2% diesel vehicles since saab and volvo stopped making them. Plus diesel is like $4 a gallon. Anyways F, the EPA they should be worrying about other things not pocket bikes. I bet we don't even contribute to 1% of the pollution here.

Hey, jeff, this is what's known as a "necro-bump" ... this thread's been dead and gone for a year. Please don't bump threads over a couple of months old, unless you're the original poster of the thread ... Thanks.

Well,
I don't care about No Stinkin EPA rules, these are the same Idots that were trying to put Catilistic Converters on Motorcycle, till someone went
to Congress, and said, If the bike lays down & fuel spills out of the Tank,
the thing has temps up to 1500 degrees!! Oh yeah there going!! EPR!

Exclamation Re: New 2 stroke import rules.

I am aware this is an old thread but the war with the EPA is really picking up steam and I figure this should be an always open/ evolving topic. Catalytic converters are now on all petro burning motors. Even weedeaters! Funny thing is that cats actually cause a piston driven motor to work harder resulting in more fossil fuels being burnt.
On any given automobile platform, eliminating catalytic converters can actually reduce fuel consumption by 4 miles per gallon. With EMS systems and head designs, there is almost a "complete" burn of each combustion cycle. So, as you see we really are going green. But what green is the actual question.

Don`t ask me, I only own a shop and do this for a living.
