oil

just a quick question, for the breakin period on the bike, you are not supposed to use full synthetic oil, right? or is it ok?
Thanks

Most people, including me, will tell you not to use full synthetic oil for the first few tanks.

Logevity of simple motors is easy:

Fresh gas

Quality premix. Not car engine oil or something you find in Grampa's garage!

Clean air filter

Good sparkplug

Respect for your machine. Warm things up before hammering, allow cool down periods and clean it after every outing.

I agree, I will emphasize not to use full or semi (if available for 2T) synthetic oil for break-in. I run 40:1 for break-in. 30ish:1 is cool too but I would never run 25:1 period. You can run 50:1 for break-in which is perfectly fine as long as you follow the break-in procedure correctly. Don't forget to pop in a new plug after you complete your break-in period.

Just use regular oil the the first few tanks. I only ran about 1/2 tank at 25:1 then mixed it at 36:1 for the rest of the break in period. I won't run synthetic in mine until the 5th full tank and by then it should be safe to go to 40:1 or slightly more.
