OK, ready to buy my first set of mods...check it out

ADA Racing laser cut fiberglass reed valve, Triple tapered needle and adjustable main jet kit, Rocket Key, Chrome ADA Racing air filter WITH velocity stack for stock carburetor, and I'm going to bore my stock carb out.

Did I make a good list? I got all those parts from a certain website that I won't mention just in case, I don't know how safe it is posting a website on this forum lol, but if anyone is selling one of these things used for a lesser price let me know.

I didn't think of that...match it with the 9/16" bit for the carb?

and badazz, I know I want a pipe, but thats like 3 times as much money as I'm spending for all the mods I have listed up there lol. But I know the clutch springs are cheap, do you recommenecd 1.4 or 1.5 for regular use, not race.

1.4 dont make much of a difference so id go with 1.5. The pipe is probably the best thing you can do for the bike you just need to know what pipe to get and that all depends on what mods you plan on doing

He's right, those mods are a good start but a pipe will make a 2stroke come alive. From what you're buying you can go with a low end torque motor or a top end horsepower motor. The IP2 is great for faster tracks and the Jetpro is good for very tight tracks where you rarely get the bike to top speed.

What's the difference between boring and porting the carb? Is it just smoothing vs. actually increasing the size?

I believe porting is just making the inlet and outlet bigger so it looks like a velocity stack.

For that wouldn't it just make more sense to go all the way through? And thanks guys, this is exactly the type of input I was looking for. Why would I get jets instead of the adj. main jet, any particular advantage to using like a .72 jet instead of getting the adj. one.?

If you're worried about the IP2 pipe not creating power at the low end, get the spacers/pipe bracket spacers on adrenaline's website. Then you can tune the IP2 pipe for good low end power.

Personally, I'm not a fan of boring the carb out. They do work well ported though. I use a hand reamer to taper the bore until about 2mm before the slide area. Then I use a dremel to polish the taper and radius the inlet into a velocity stack. On the back side, I add about 2mm more diameter tapered to about 2mm from the slide, so it is more like a venturi. I just don't see how you can control the fuel mixture accurately if there is a gap on the sides of the slide, but I guess it works for some.

Alrighty then lol...I'm leaving my girls house now, and on the way home I'm gonna try and organize everything I just read and try t picture it all in my head so it can make sense.

The porting part I think I understand how to do it. The IP2 exhaust spacers I think I also understand....we'll see if I have an epiphany on the drive home.

So if i were looking from the top of the carb, thats what my carb should look like (similarly) if i were to "port" it correctly?

The adjustable jet can come out of adjustment from engine vibrations. It's easy to reset if you know how many turns out it was set to, but it can be annoying. Also be careful when closing the jet. I borked my needle tip by cranking it down too hard. Gonna regrind it.

Thanks! I wasn't sure which tool I needed to create a nice venturi on my carb. I may take photos and post them for others.
