I would subsitute the Proline reed valve w/race carb for the Walbro WYK set-up.

yeah i would stay away from the walbro carbs, you need more than the 15mm one you described for a bbk anyway, i used a 17mm walbro but its just not right, i had better success with a highly modified stock carb or best bet would be a 14/14 or the proline setup

Lets put it this way... NONE of the euro bikes run a butterfly carb like the Walbros and some of them make 15-20hp! They all use slide carbs like the stock one on cags. Also most of the euro bikes run a reed setup similar to Proline's. The stock carb when ported can flow alot of cfm. The only real restriction in the stock cag intake is the reeds. They only allow for 35cfm of flow into the engine. This is horrible! I think the Proline kit flows around 80-100cfm! The math is simple, more air+gas= POWER!

well said ritchey. Ive tried to tell people the walbros are meant for a chainsaw or weedeater. The stock carb can be ported to 14.5 but we have a 15mm coming out which will flow enough for our 4 petal reed cage our prolines.

The Walbro 'race' carb that Proline sells with their reed valve kit made me a happy camper.

Walbro carbs are actually pretty **** good. I have one. Its a ***** to tune at first, but once you get a hang of the tuning process, you'll begin to think why the italian bikes wont use it. You never have to worry about swapping out jets. Its all about tuning.

What "number" HP carb do you get with the Pro-Line or PSWS reed kit. I just installed the Walbro 668 on my cag and am having a hard time tuning.

Looking to get the reed kit and for the extra 30 bucks should a get the hp carb that comes with the kit?

I wouldn't go that far hahaha. I still think dellorto's are the best out there. Any 14mm carb that's used on 10HP motors has to be good.

ive ran all types of walbros and others and ive found that the walbros flow good at wot but nowhere else. the stock carbs work well when modified and nothing really beats a dell orto that ive found

I tried my 668 when I first installed the reed kit and could not get the high end tuned correctly.Just seemed like I couldn't get enough fuel on the top.
Installed the Walbro that came with the kit and had it tuned in 30 minutes.
And yes...I do know how to tune the Walbro carbs.I have owned the 668 and the 603.
You can always try the 668 and if it doesn't get you where you want to be then get the carb that comes with the kit.
Good luck!!

What is the difference between PSWS kit and ProLine Kit besides $29.00 and the carb being tapped for the Pulse Line?

Proline's price includes shipping and the carb already tapped.
I'm not sure if you get the same ordering from psws.
