Plug question... should it look like this?

So, today, i got a new V plug NGK something... replaces the BM6A. thought it might help. seemed to run great.

now, my friend got some NOS octane booster, and dumped a bunch in our tanks. i figured, why not. my bike ran great, despite breaking 2 chains (**** chinese kids really forgot to tighten alotta bolts on this thing... my sprocket came loose... grrr)

but then it started to bog. and slow down. barely made it back up the bike path by the canal to the shop. then it wouldn't run. i pulled the plug...

the orange one is the new V one. the other one is the old one. i put it back in, and the bike revved up just fine.

the heck does an orange plug mean? too lean from too much octane?

Re: Plug question... should it look like this?

That orange is fouling[glazing] from the booster..Theres a limit to how much you can put into the fuel before it starts predetonation...1 small bottle of that stuff I believe treats 15 gallons of fuel...Youd only need an ounce to a gallon mix..The best way to make race gas is mixing 93 octane to 10% toluene....Youll probably have to richen the carb up a little with the needle in the slider to run it though but maybe not......Peace

Good question there .... I've never seen an orange plug, either ...

Okay, I'm going to ask what may sound like a REALLY stupid question, but: did your friend buy THIS NOS octane booster ....?

How NOT to add performance to your bike!!

Because quite honestly, that looks like rust, not something being burned during combustion ...

Re: Plug question... should it look like this?

haha. actually i think it was the same stuff. the additive, not the drink. hahaha. what a tool

definitely wont be using that crap anymore. i've never seen an orange plug either, but it was BRAND new an hour and a half before the NOS crap. i figured it was a dumb idea, but he was all for it, and dumped it in the gas can we have our fuel in.

weird thing is, is his **** bike ran fine. i dont get it. his bike was half the price of mine and has needed no work.

Try cleaning that new plug and put it back in with some good gas, not the garbage he mixed up.

Re: Plug question... should it look like this?

Guys,
I use 104 Boost Octane Additive, I use 1 1/3 oz. per gallon, the tech guy
told me no more, that will make 91 to 95/96 oct. I like it for my 110cc,
4stroke bikes cause it has a top oil that lubes your valve guides etc..
