Pull Cord is Tough & getting Tougher

I have a new cag and have noticed that the starting of it is getting harder and harder. It no longer smooths out after a few gentle pulls. Is this normal for a cag?

Yes, due to the high compression engine, it will be hard, and sometimes it will throw u back (to the bike), but be careful that u dont pull to far out/break the cord. Good luck!

Haha, you wouldnt have a problem with a harley either being they have low compression If you want fun try kick starting a 600 supersport (If they had kick starts ) 12:1 compression! woo

pull off the pull starter and inspect the pawl(white or black gear in side pull starter) if a tooth or groove has broken off it will make it hard to pull that is untill the pull starter breaks,*note be careful if you remove the center screw inside the pull starter unit or a spring will come out with great speed (kinda looks like the scene from alian the the thing poops out off the guys chest).enjoy!

Less then 10:1 is high? I must have missed something.

These motors are pretty much straight CHAINSAW engines, someone posted a site a while ago where you could actually buy the engines from a US based company that sold, guess what, chainsaw motors. Carb and everything.
