Ratio...

I've been running a 50:1 ratio in my bike for the break in period i feel its about done, it's been i think about 5-6 tanks. What should i run in it now? I heard 25:1 but some say 30:1 or 40:1, I'm most concerned about my engine and what's best for it. Thanks for the help.

Re: Ratio...

What. Did you run 50:1 for run in???
You should run 25:1 as run in and 40-50:1 after.
Thats what I have heard.

Re: Ratio...

40:1 is the safest.
I have heard that most use 50:1

Re: Ratio...

not for run in.
After run in it will build up carbon.
That is the extra oil that do that.
You only need it to lube when the engine components are matching eatch other.

Re: Ratio...

if u run 50:1 make sure u use SYNTHETIC oil but personally i prefer running 45:1 its in b/t 40 and 50 also if i were u i would work my way up to 50:1 first go to 32:1 on a tank then like 40:1 after that its up to u.. but don't go any less oil than 50:1

Re: Ratio...

You can run 25:1 all you want, it won't damage your motor... That's what I'm doing. Tried 40:1 a few times and I didn't notice any improvements from 25:1. You have more chances of your engine running longer on 25:1 than 40 or 50:1 but you will have oil leaking from a few places...

Re: Ratio...

Its better to have 25:1 ratio cause the 2t oil is the life of your engine it protects the cylinder wall and piston for friction. Less lubrication means greater friction so you will end up on high temp on your engine or near for overheating or piston siezure. Use synthetic oil if your planning to have a 30:1 to 40:1 ratio.

Re: Ratio...

Tests have shown that the leaner you run on oil, the greater the risk of damage, the power drops off and the piston, plug, and cylinder head will coke up quicker. On higher stressed engines bearing life is shortened, sometimes to minutes, and engines run hotter. Don't run less than 33:1 ratio in any engine.
