Got my 4 petal reed setup yesterday from Daves Discound Motors, they are an advertiser here in the forums. Very high quality, and looks real sweet. Got mine with the WT series manifold and WT-603 carb. Install took about 20 minutes maybe, very easy for the most part. At first i had a problem and realised a gasket was crooked and blocking more then half of then intake port. Another thing was the metal piece on the opposite side of where the end of the throttle cable hooks into had to be removed because it was hitting the intake manifold when i would give it gas.(see picture below). Also i had to use an old throttle linkage i had laying around because the supplied one required me to cut my throttle cable housing. So as you can see in the picture i have it kinda rigged up, with just one screw holding it on, but hey it works. I would of used both screw holes but the intake manifold gets in the way and i didn't want to go cutting away at it.
Kit consist of: 4 petal reed cage, huge reed spacer that the reed goes in, nice billet intake manifold and velocity stack, walbro WT-603 carb with linkage, all needed gaskets and screws.
Bike used in review: 2004 Off-road Sikk Bike, "47cc" reed valve engine (of course). With 1.5 clutch springs, air filter, and an ada endbleed race pipe(made for scooters/gopeds) and the ada 4 petal reed kit i got from DDM.
First off understand that before the ada kit my bike was not stock. I had modded the whole intake side and gain some power, but like others it was minimal and not enough. I had .3mm fiberglass reed, walbro wt-457 carb (just like 603 almost), same performance filter, modified reed cage, bored intake manifold.
The price of all mods on the intake side before install: around 100$
Price of reed kit that comes with all you need minus filter: 113$
Notice you spend about the same, and the reed kit comes with everything you need on the intake side so you don't need to buy more mods (except new heads and pipes and clutches).
Does the price difference justify the buy?
I adjusted my carb according to the directions that came with the kit, 1/4 out on each fuel screw. I left the idle screw where it was when it came. I started her up with the chock on and it started in 3 pulls. Sounded nicely and i had to adjust the idle screw down a little. Gave her a few revs and could already notice it had more umph to it. Let her warm up and hoped on to take it for a ride. WOW! what a great mod. Great low and mid power, and completely smooth powerband that last from 10mph to top speed. Top end is about the same, but with the increased crankcase volume it would be expected i think. Thats what the head kit will cure.

I am very amazed and impressed. I couldn't stop smiling, hell i was almost giggling like a little school girl. Not many parts of done that for me. I now have a load of low end torque with this setup. I can start on a steep incline and still acclerate like crazy. It's almost dangerous cause i ride on a dirt driveway and it keeps trying to get away from me. I wrecked once today and almost 2 other times. I would recommend to anyone to get this kit. I see people saying its to expensive but what does a nice carb cost you with an intake manifold, velocity stack, some reed spacers, dual stage reed, and gaskets? I would say its close to the same price because the kit replaces the whole intake side (minus filter) and can flow way more then a stock reed cage, which is always gonna limit you when you start building power. I cant even imagine what it would do with their head kit or similar head kit. Which is why im now in such a hurry to get one and see. What we would have is one crazy *** cag that could put down some nice numbers. I am going to install the reed kit on my other sikk bike with the ported head and see what kind of difference it makes. I also have the new zocchi clutch on my other sikk bike, so it will be interesting. I think the zocchi clutch, combined with a nice ported head kit and reed kit would be enough for most riders. Throw on a pipe and i wouldn't be surprised to be hitting 6hp. (just an estimate guys) Maybe even more but i don't know well enough to give an exact number.
This kits right for you if you plan on modded out your cag. If your going to put all that money into parts on the intake side you might as well buy this kit and be done with it. It flows way more then stock and modified reed cages and complements other bolt-ons because of its power potential. This buy is a no brainer if you want to extract power from your cag without a bunch of different mods that dont do as much as get a smile across your face. Thanks to Daves Motors to having such great products and such great prices!
Below is also a picture of the reed kit installed.
