Question Rims


i own a cag and the bolts on the sprocket and the disc are stripped. dose any one know where i can get a rim that wont strip out?

Another suggestion is that the bolts probably go in the rim only 1/4" and you can go to the hardware store and replace the bolts with longer ones. bring one bolt with you to match up (diamiter and thread pattern) Get different lenght bolts and make sure you get enough for all brake disks/ and sprockets. Also get some thread lock. You can get all this from your Hardware store for just a couple of dollars.

already tried that and drilled and tapped them bigger and deeper but the aluminum just stripps out!

I'd say try again.

Maybe use heli-coil so you don't have to go too big? Also a heli-coil would give you steel threads when you're done.

But then you could always buy a set of wheels (with tires) on eBay for pretty cheap.

ya, these rims are sh!t. my sprocket bolts loosened up the last time we were practicing and when I went to tighten the bolts I nearly stripped them very easily. I could feel the material starting to give, it's very soft. I thread locked the crap out of them and am hoping they'll last a while. But surely I'm due for a new rear wheel too.
