I like 'em both, but that second one is seriously bad-azzed .... looks like it's screaming when it's just standing still. I'm sure someone around here with some welding experience and some spare parts will think it's a neat project (and not just me, either!)
Benefield, I added a link to this thread in that other one I made. Might want to check it out - CAM2 has a three-wheeler Cag he made using the rear end of one of those electric shoppig carts and a 6.5hp engine. Kinda wicked ....
dayum that second one is the sickest thing i have ever seen ! its funy you said that i was just messing w this three wheeler and was wondering what i was going to build next and just that poped into my head i was going to build a water cooled quad but i dont realy want to get into that water cooled stuff so there it is i will build a can am cag next haha see these arabs sell pocket bikes up the street and they stock alot of scrap bikes that couldnt be repaired and just take parts off of them to fix others i mean everything from buggies to cags to x bikes and pit bikes so i get stuff here and there from them they think that stuff is gold so i try not to buy from them to much only the hard to find stuff spy let me know how that cvt works for you i may try one on this project
i used the wheels from my quad to just kinda get an idea to see what it would look like . just need some paint and a few odd and end parts and should be good to go it rolls smooth but the steering is terible as i suspected but it looks cool
Trikes usually don't steer very well because of the center of gravity. Looking good so far, though ...... have you considered stretching the rear end and lowering it a little to help stabilize it?

its funny you say that because i have thought about stretching the rear but the longer the chain the harder it is to keep it on track i also thought abot lowering it after i seen it with the wheels on it . it does sit a lil high in the pic and the steering issue is from the solid axle its handling is just like my quad i need one of those doodads like cam has on his mini trike he said his takes turns very well

True about the long chain, BUT you can throw a jackshaft on there, and run two chains. Live axles - where the rear axle is completely solid - have a hard time turning, because you always have full power going to both wheels, so you kinda have to skid into corners.
Find you a differital from northen tools for a go cart that will fix the stering problem! The bike is looking cool. I have been thinking of useing my 04 xb12s to make a trike like in the second picture just hate to chop it up.
Benefield, just tool the Re-Cycle on its maiden run, and that CVT pulls hard, dude. I'd say get one, and make sure you order the #25 gear that goes on it to fit your pocketbike chain.

i need some opinions guys does anyone else think this thing needs to be lowerd it doesnt look like it sits high in person the pics dont realy do justice give me some opinions i want this thing to look cool . fixin to get ready for paint . i wonder what a body kit would look like
thanks alot spy! i just dont want to build something that looks stupid . haha it has about 4 or 5 in i will get another pic. hey man how is that cvt working out on your project im still thinking of getting one

it worked out really well. The bike's got a LOT more torque than I thought it would, just a little push-off and it pulls hard, keeps on pulling. (Got it up to about ten miles an hour, with a LOT of throttle to go....) You may need to gear it down a little to get a good take-off. Right now, mine's set up at an unbelieveable 25/55 gear ratio, almost 2:1 gearing - I may change that 25th down to a 15th or a 19th later.
I don't think you've built anything stupid or dumb-looking - on the contrary, I think it's pretty cool that you've taken what you had, and built something unique out of it. not many people around will do that, but a craftsman will.
I think that you should maybe lower it a little, and try to find a front rim that matches the rear rims a little more, but other then that it looks cool good job.
I would make it a full fairing machine...the lower fairing will give it a girthy and lower look.....The reason why it doesnt handle as good as youd like it to is mainly due to the wide slicks you have on there. They add alot of road friction to erase the power of the engine..Try pumping up the air pressure on the higher end and it should roll alot better..Im glad my trike has a rear with a built-in differential because I had a feeling it would rob some of the power with the strain of the solid axle....No matter what its still a good looking trike and the addition of the CVT will definately enhance it well enough to be able to get a better ride out of it.....Peace
