Hey guys,I havent been on the forums for awhile now. Just telling everybody i am still around and still in the sport. Just been busy and have not been on here as much as i use to be. But i am on AIM all the time..
Hey man, what's up? I just pulled mine out again this yesterday since my friend and I finished building his new Go-Ped and wanted someone to ride with. I don't have my Sport together because I need to grind down some crap in the rear box to make room for the beadlock I'm putting on, and I'm waiting on another front fork to arrive, so I just pulled out the Cag. Today my ten year old cousin was over here for my family birthday party and I got him on my Cag for the first time, and he loves it! I told him he could have it for his birthday in October, as I don't ride it often at all, not to mention I hate pulling it out since something almost always goes wrong without fail.
Anyway, just been trolling the forum looking for a new upper fairing since it's cracking behind the seat. I also can't get it to idle for ****, even with it adjusted to the max at the twist throttle. I have it set at the lowest notch on the needle, so I guess I'll move it up a notch. I think the needle is supposed to affect 1/4-3/4 throttle, but maybe it'll help my idle a bit, anyhow.

For fixing the seat on your Cag, someone posted a seat repair in the A/C Mods section on how to do exactly that. You go to Walmart or your local body or marine shop, and pick up some fiberglass compound. While you're there, pick up one or two of the fiberglass "sheets" that you can lay down on the surface. Anyway, flip the seat section over, mix up some of the compound, and slather it on there good and thick, lay one of the sheets down on top of it, and do it again. Builds the bottom of that seat up REAL nice and thick.
If you really want to be slick, go to Home Depot in the building materials section, and look for something called "hardware cloth." Basically, it's heavy wire mesh, kind of like chicken wire, but heavier gauge. Cut off a section of that, sandwich it into all that new fiberglass (obviously line up the holes with the ones for the seat screws), and let it dry. You'll probably break the bike frame before you break that seat off again .....
Try adjusting the idle screw down on the carburetor instead of up at the throttle - that might be better. I think it comes out 1 1/2 turns from all the way in, and then mess around with it from there. And yes, the needle affects those ranges - you got it right.

I saw that how-to, but I think I'd rather get a whole new upper fairing since the cracks would still be visible.
As for the carb, I could be wrong, but I thought I turned the idle screw all the way in before messing with the cable up at twist throttle, as that makes most sense to do first. I'll check tomorrow or something.
