stock coil?

How do you change the boot on a stock coil? Or is it an ignition. I'm not really sure what it is. The reason why I'm asking this is because I just recently bought Boosted306's stage 3 two piece kit and I got it all mounted but then the new spark plug is too small for my boot(or spark cap?) so it kept slipping off and it was pretty loose.

Re: stock coil?

you can unscrew the wire itself, where it screws on to the coil and replace it with an NGK racing cable + boot. the wire screws onto a self tapping screw cast into the coil

The small cap on top of the spark plug can be un-screwed, then you just screw on the cap from your old spark plug which should be larger. I had to do the same.

Re: stock coil?

Cool cool. Thanks you guys. The spark plug that came with the kit had a skinnier tip unlike the stock one which was kinda fat if you guys know what I'm saying. Any recommendations on where to buy a ngk race cable/boot online?

Re: stock coil?

Get a NGK resistor cap from the local dirtbike dealership ;-just bring your plug in to get the right one that fits proper...You can use an MSD or ACCEL performance wire from an auto set to save yourself time and loot. The ACCEL Extreme 9000 series 8.8mm hp wires work great....Peace

+1
use the metal Cap off an old plug. They unscrew. That way your stock coil will work fine!!
