Unmarked Head

I can't seem to find the identification on my head. Is it any good, or is it a piece? How is it compared to ZH1 and SY?

Unmarked heads are the same as SY, that is if it's not the 49cc/big bore.

If the bottom four fins on the cylinder don't go all the way around and the square bumps on the sides near the case are approx 1" across then you have an actual 49cc engine. This is a good thing because you don't need to spend the $$ on a big bore kit. My last FF cag had no markings on the cylinder and SQ on top of the triple clamp. It had the factory big bore.

Banzai !!!!!

My bike was also stamped with SQ on the triple clamp. But when i use the cooling fin method for motor identification, the fins go the whole way around. Meaning that the SQ factory is production true big bores, and the lyer bores, and putting them on the same bikes. I bought mine cause it said it had a zh1 copy from the sq factory, what a joke.

The "SQ" stamped cags are just another manufacturer of the cag. The ones stamped "SQ XXXXXXX" on the frame are the original/first HF & FF cags. Of course it has nothing to do with what motor it comes with. Actually you have it backwards, and Banzai is correct. If the fins go all the way around then it is NOT the 49cc, not the other way around as you said.

My head looks like the one on the left, bottom four fins don't touch and its unmarked. Is that a 47cc?

Reread what i posted, i said what you said. I know if the fins go the whole way around its the small bore. and thats what i have here. And it claims to be a zh1 copy. If it was a copy of a zh1 it would be big bore wouldn't it?

Your picture contradicts what you say. The cylinder on the left is clearly stamped zh1, but is not big bore? does this mean that zh1 motors are not big bore, but just a differen't manufactureer?

You got it, ZH-1s are NOT "big bores" but are "supposedly" the better barrels of the 40cc engines. "Big bore"/49cc barrels are not marked with any stamps. The one on the right in my picture is the big bore.

What exactly do you mean by a copy of a ZH-1? Is your barrel unmarked and the seller told you it was a ZH-1 copy? If you barrel is unmarked and is not the 49cc engine, then it is a SY. The only ZH-1 "copy" I know of is the BD engine.

Yes that is what the uninformed world calls "47cc". It's actually a 40.2cc, there is no 47cc or 39.6cc cag engine. Your unmarked head is a SY.

Yeah me too, The power of isnt the only thing thats bad about mine, the cylinder wall on the inside is horribly rough. It has a knich half way up, and they are waves in the metal big enough to feel.

I cut a boost port into mine and found 2 flaws in the casting ,as i cut the port i came across 2 diffrent spots that were hollow holes under the surface i used jb weld to fill these holes it wont affect the cyl but it shows poor quality in the casting of this cylinder.
