Re: 3D Minimoto parts

Very VERY nice, That looks GREAT.

I'm using Cinema4D for now, but I am making a jump in two directions, to 3DStudio Max, And also getting a student copy of SolidWorks.

Thanks for posting, And keep up the GOOD work.

Nick.

Re: 3D Minimoto parts

cool work Nick!

I have been working with Solidworks 3D (both 2005 and 2008 Premium/Professional Versions) for quite a bit some time now because of my engineering tract.

The simulation, validation, and assembly capabilities are out of this world! You can run anything from a flow work, heat transfer to stress tests. animation, motion studies.. you name it. If the assembly is correct it can even run clearance check/incident tests for you. Plus much more features. you should check it out, the tutorial guide is real helpful too for the those that have never used the software.

Looks like you have a knack for it already! cool beans dude

Re: 3D Minimoto parts

very very nice Nick.

I was just skimming through your first renderings that you posted on here and it looks like you have come a long way!

I don't know about the program you are using but I know with SW after you assign specific material properties to your 3D model (or use default materials in program) it can calculate other extensive properties for you like weight, mass, volume and other stuff.

just wanted to throw it out there. To this day I am still amazed how programmers and engineers are able to streamline these 3D modeling programs to basically simulate real world conditions and properties to almost the "T". Man has come a long way since hand drafting *LOL*

Re: 3D Minimoto parts

Thank you NoRdO, I can't wait to start on the next bike, It's just hard to track down good photo's taken at at straight angles like Front, Side, Back, Top.

Anybody that would like to see their bike in 3D, Take some pictures straight and level, Fairings off, And I'll get started.

I would like to do the Banshee, or 911 rep, or D1, or Z1 next.

Thanks again

Nick.

Re: 3D Minimoto parts

Some more detail, I guess this means I'll have to do the cylinder next.

I'm doing a Photoshop class this semester and I'm going to try to get my teacher to let me do work on the minimoto project for credit in class, How cool would that be!
