I was working on one last weekend. I dont like them. dcminimoto should be better. A freind of mine bought their 19 and its a nice carb. You just have to do to much to them badass carbs its not just a bolt on. Its even harder than my walbro on my cag. im sure you could prob get it to work after hours of cussing at it. i got the one i was working on to finaly keep running The problem with them is they dont fit right and you cant get it to seal up to the motor right. he also had their intake and reeds. the carb kept falling off.lol so we got the dremil out and cut a little to fit tighter and it ran well for awhile. get that 16 sha and you will be alot happyer. thats what im getting.

Its just they fit better than a replica carb. get a real delorto or sha and it will perform alot better. And theirs no rigging tom at dc mini moto has the goods.

i don't care 4 the badazz carb. my bike idles like poo and leaks gas! chris is a stand up guy and most of his products are nice but i think his 17mm carb is junk.

Dellorto jets in BAT carb

Has anyone else tried this????? I haven't ran the bike yet but the jets DO thread in. The last 1 1/4 turns is slightly difficult but doesn't damage the jet or metering tube and the Dellorto jets thread right back into a Dellorto carb.....No problems The actual threaded part of both the Dellorto and BAT jets is the same length. The BAT jets seem taller but the pickup hole is at the same height as the Dellortos'

I'm keeping my fingers crossed as numbered jets will take 99% of the quesswork out of jetting this carb

Banzai !!!!!!!!

I know dellorto 18, 19, and 21mm phbg main jets are the same as dellorto 14/14 SHA main jets. If the carb you're showing is a PHBG replica carb, which it looks like it to me (I may be wrong), then I don't see why regular dellorto jets don't fit. Have you tested that carb with the dellorto jets on your bike yet?

It's the BAT 17mm carb. It's pretty much a replica of the Dellorto PHBG minus the plastic bowl and valve cover. I haven't had a chance to remount the carb. I had some problems getting the carb dialed in initially but it was mostly due to confusion with the jets. I tried drilling etc. all to no avail.........so I pulled the carb and installed the stocker so I could get the rest of the bike dialed in. Chris sent me some new jets but I still have that doubtful, uneasy, sick gut feeling that, while tuning, the jets will always be questionable.

I never received a sealing washer or bushing with my carb so I pirated them from another carb(as stated in the "How-To") Well, I'm using the other carb now so I have to make a bushing and sealing washer for the carb. I'm currently working on a firmer rubber "all in one" piece. Just takes time to perfectly dremel a chunk of rubber. I'm also waiting on a squish kit from DC so I can do all the work at one time.

I JUST CAN'T BELIEVE THIS HASN'T BEEN TRIED YET Especially by me. ......I've had the jets forrrrrrrevvvvvver.

I'll update in the "How-To".......... if someone doesn't beat me to a conclusion.

Banzai !!!!!!!!!!

Pocket Hemi, yes there's two types of Dellorto jets(for the carbs we would use)
most manufactures(Mikuni, etc) have different jet for different series of carbs.

SHA jets in BAT 17mm Carb? YES!! Yes they work!!

WOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO!! The jets work!!! I got the bushing/sealing ring made and reinstalled the carb. The biggest jet I had on hand was an 82..........too small. I had good pull through the top end but the plug is barely colored after 4 full throttle runs to top speed. I've gasket matched the jug and case and I'm running BAT fglass reeds. I'm estimating I'll need an 84-86.

By the way............ THIS CARB MAKES THE BIKE FLIPPIN FLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY, and, it'll only have more power when I get the larger jets!!

Having the numbered jets made tuning VERY easy. I made two jet swaps(78-80-82) until the top end sounded good, put the clip in the fourth slot, set the A/F screw till the throttle response was good(WAY better than stock)and set the idle(nice and smooth)...........all on the bench. Then I took it to my neighbors 550 ft driveway for the full pulls.
(kinda spooky trying to reign it in on slick blacktop ).

Chris, if your watching, stock up on Dellorto's and include them with this carb.
Your customers will thank you.
Finally, I can give this carb a BIG

badazz carb is stuborn, it doesn't idle you have to keep a rev happening. i noticed a top end loss with it but it accelerated harder (i put in there reeds and .1mm gasket)

You need to adjust the A/F screw, next to the idle screw. Your idle will change when you adjust this. But first.......you lost top end because your not getting enough fuel. I'm still running 1.3mm of squish(waiting on DC) and I don't know how much flow was added by my matching of the case and jug(all done before running the bike) but I'd estimate you need at least an 82-84 main. Get your top end set(highest rpm by ear or tach) then set your throttle response via needle and A/F screw then set your idle.

Chris PM me with details on parts. I spooned a set of SandStars on the Rap, went to Silver Lake(sand was kinda wet that day), and .........did nothing but look at the sky all day
I sold the paddles and put that money toward a nice set of Hypers with black rings.

I'll run that CR.............
After clicking on pic......right click and a zoom icon should appear click on that. Anyone spot the special bike plate?
