banshee sho

I was looking into buying a water cooled bike, and I've decided to look for a banshee sho. Can anyone give me some suggestions on where to buy one where I'm getting very good quality and something thats not rediculously priced? Does anyone have any idea on if some people sell crappy versions of the bike and some sell decent ones? i know with cags that happens alot even when you're looking at the same bike one company will have a lot more quality than the others. I want this thing to be able to run out of the box lol

LOOK around and always keep your eye open! go to all your local swapmeets frequently, i picked up a used banshee SHO from some n00b for 100 dollars only needed a carb and pinion.
actual pic of how it looked when i brought it home:

Re: banshee sho

what do you mean by local swapmeet? I live in illinois to and the county cops take their jobs to seriously about these things. Have allready had cops called on me 3 times for noise complaints at 12 in the afternoon... Also tsunami bikes look like a very competitive company and I have heard good things from them. How much is the banshee sho listed on hotpocketzz.com because their site is still under construction. If they are a polini and zocchi retailer i have faith in them as well lol.

Wheaton, IL. or Napperville which you probably have heard of. I have a cag right now, but next summer I'm pretty sure im going to sell it to a friend and pick up a banshee. But yea I have been looking for people to ride with so hook me up with the info please! Also I hear the banshee needs some work out of the box...what Kind of work specifically needs to be done to it?

Re: banshee sho

well were are about 25 miles west of Champaign home of the Fighting Illini. Im sure you have heard of that place . were probably a couple hrs from you but its well worth the trip . and as for a banshee out of the box . yesh they need some work but if I were you I would just save up and find a nice euro for about the same money . you wont regret it . I would rather have a used euro over a new banshee anyday of the week . Polini , DM, GRC, Stamas, Im not a blata fan so Im not suggesting one . by the time you really take a banshee with time and $$$ you will be spending about the same on a used euro and most guys that spend that big money on a euro take care of them . JMHO

Re: banshee sho

honestly if the banshee's front wheel will lift off the ground while taking off thats fast enough for me. Personally I like buying new things anyhow because that way if there is a problem I wont get screwed, and also if there is something wrong I'll know what it is because I did it! I understand about what youre saying that they will take care of them, but honestly I don't think ill do much to this bike from being stock other than maybe a zochi pipe. The difference really is 700 to over 1 grand for a used euro. Time isn't really a factor for me anyhow I like working on them. Do you know exactly what work needs to be done though?

Re: banshee sho

Also do you guys have a track down near champaign? I'm definately willing to make the trip one day next summer. Right now I'm at Indiana University, but as you can see I'm getting my research done on what I'm going to do for next summer =D

Well here ya go . by the time you buy a $700 + shipping banshee and a BZM or Zocchi pipe your looking at $900-$1000 . and you will still not have much over 9-10 hp . there are euro 40cc 5 ports making that and more that wont need a pipe and have a good carb, reed, clutch , crank, brakes, etc
I have a GRC gp which is what the banshee is a rep of . both look similar but way way different handling. the banshee brake dont feel the same even adjusted close to the same . and the worst thing about the banshee is the clutch . and a euro clutch will not ifit it unless your looking to spend $180 on a zocchi clutch .the stock carb on these is a disaster and the tires are worthless . so by the time you put more $$ into it your above and beyond a used euro . Your going to be spending more time getting that banshee to run right and a euro will be hop on and ride . There has been many euro bikes on here and ebay for sale that are top notch for less than $700 . Keep your eyes open winter is coming and alot of guys unload them that wont use them over the winter for cheap I might add, .
No tracks in Champaign . there is a kart track in springfield and we also have a large asphalt double lot in Farmer City that we have access to use and race on . We just set up the cones and make the track however we want . it has
2 - 250' straights and 2 -300 ' straights 2 shicanes and 2 hairpins we build the rest of the track ourselves. Its right at 1/4 mile long when we get done . There are like 7 or 8 A/C cags so dont get rid of it yet thats where all the fun racing action takes place. . Bring that cag down in a couple weeks there should be a bunch of people coming the weekend of the 27th of sept . I think we will have 8 or 9 a/c cags for sure and 4-5 w/C bikes . its starting to grow here bigtime. i was the only one here where I live now there are 9 or 10 bikes in the last couple months

Re: banshee sho

Ok I might be able to agree with you there. But I still am the kind of person who likes to purchase my stuff new and work on it myself. So if I wasn't going to buy a banshee there is also the c1 and c5 and bikes like that which are w/c. Would you recommend any cheap w/c bikes that can really put out some power for cheap that i can buy new! And I will probably keep my cag ive put to much work into it to sell it lol. but i wont be able to make it the 27th considering i will still be in indiana or back at home in traffic court for that weekend lmao. (not pocketbike related) Anyhow any info on some other w/c bikes that are sweet for the price and can make some decent hp i would be interested to hear of. thanks

Im not trying to be a A HOLE but just listen to me . Buy a used euro you will truely thank me for it later. You might think its fun to work on it but I guarantee you will spend more time riding the euro than working on it .. Its not that way with the china W/C bikes . the W/C are very frustrating when they dont run its not like a A/C cag TRUST ME ON THIS ONE !!!

Re: banshee sho

mmm id always get a 2nd hand bike now unless it was a new GRC or something. the chinese bikes just have way too many problems for their own cost. your gauranteed to have rebuilt everything in a year.

so unless your into that sort of thing..
