Scooterteq: Banshee SHO price?

Being vague and illusive on this topic is not going to win anyone over. I mean people will buy it if they can afford it, do want to sell dozens or thousands.

My personal threshold is about $700, any more and its not able to be excused as a "toy" expense.

I will be at All Toy Motorsports Dec 2 to see this thing.

I think you've really got something here. Lets hope your very successful.

We are not being vague or Elusive about the price. We simply have not stated it yet. This is not a stamped-steel frame, plastic engine Cag, it is a racing bike. The MSRP will be $899 which allows for overhead for stocking spares, service and a reasonable profit. This is not an Ebay, buy at your own risk item. It is up the to the distibutors to determine the final price they will charge depending on those factors. This is also not the C1. It is a totally different breed. It is also likely that the Chinese dollar will be revalued on Jan. 1st but we do not know by how much. All we do know is that the value of the US Dollar will drop causing imports from China to become more expensive. We will have to deal with that when the time comes.

I will take time for the shipment to clear Customs at the congested Port of Seattle, probably a week at least, so call before going over there.

Thanks Scooterteq. I searched for Banshee pricing references and I did not get the answer I was looking for. I knew a little bluntness would warrent a solid reply. Sorry to anyone who felt I was being rude.

I feel that at $899 people will still jump on them. Personally, it will take a little longer build my faith and require me to find one to test ride. No one wants to add $978.12 (tax-no shipping) in garage art. But who cares about that? Oh....the guy selling them does!

Competition is:

Polini clone pre-order for $933 no shipping
B1 clone for $645 shipped

More than likely the swing arm is going to bend. Now here's my problem. You cannot bend cast aluminum back into place even with heat. It will break. With steel you could heat it up and bend it back. We'll see soon enough if this will be an issue or not. Hopefully it's made of high quality aluminum and it won't be as succeptable to damage.
We discussed this among our people here. The consensus is that due to the quality of the welding and thickness of the castings the only way one could damage the frame is by doing a head-on at high speed into a tree or similar obstruction, in which case, Bye-bye Bro. In that event it is most likely that the front fork will bend driving the front wheel into the radiator, taking out the pipe and smashing into the engine.

Someone asked about the footpegs. They are cast aluminum, 1-1/2" x 2-1/4", 1/2" on outside tapered to 1" where it attaches to the frame.

thanks please keep us posted.
key items of interest:
-wet weight (ready to ride, talk full)
-power output at the back tire
-the RPM at which peak power is attained, along with peak RPM (pretty shure it's not 20k)
thanks

After seeing the video on their website, looking at the craftsmanship of the bike, I would say this PB is the real deal. Weight might be a huge factor, but if the engine is reliable, i'd say this PB is better than the C1.

The weather forecast is not very appealing for the weekend but we are hoping for a break. Rain big-time down here in the last couple of weeks. That's why they call Houston the Bayou City. Water has no where to go. We won't ahve access to the dyno until next week but want to break the bike in first anyway. I will keep pumping out pics as we go along.

Their website is claiming that the 20K RPM is crankshaft RPM
What do you divide by to get the real RPM?

It is not really a math function although I suppose you could reduce it to that if you can input all of the variables. It depends on the load (resistance). We will be able to give you an accurate figure after we dyno test it next week.

I think the comment was in a direct drive transmission, the crankshaft RPM is the transmission output RPM. There is no fudge factor except for marketing.

Now driving is another matter. Loaded or unloaded the RPM is a function of the motor and gearing. If the Banshee can spin the pinion to 20,000RPM unloaded it should be ultimately be able to do that loaded. The varibles are time and drag.

We all have cars, motorcycles and other IC powered toys that can exceed the suggested RPM's. The manufacturers of those things do not advertise the theoretical maximum or the self destruct RPM. They set or say the redline is ____ RPM. Using 20,000RPM as a selling point means to me I can expect to see that given reasonable allowances for time and drag.

Oh well....

If its even close we're all going to have some fun!
Scooterteq can I see some pictures of the air filter, carb, manifold and reed block? Thanks.
