Banshee for Speed World Record?

I am seeking a Mini Moto to set a Land Speed World Record for our new Secret Speed Club TV Program. Can anyone let me know if the Banshee is the best bike for this challenge? If so, where can we buy a quality bike from?

probably not. its the heaviest pocket bike you can buy bar nothing im pretty sure (over 30kg fully loaded)

probably something that weighs nothing like a stamas or bms i guess would be the better starting point

Re: Banshee for Speed World Record?

Weight isn't necessarily the only issue. A banshee motor aint gonna set any world records tho. Nor is it likely to come with round wheels, decent bearings, a half decent clutch, and the list goes on. If you wanna go proper fast straight away you're gonna need a proper euro bike. Id say you need a bzm motor too but realisticly you gonna need something even more special than that.

Re: Banshee for Speed World Record?

Build a custom bike so it makes the record harder to break after you set the speed because anybody can buy a cag frame and soup it up easily for a descent shot at waxxing it plus a regular cag frame will wash out on the flats more easier than one almost twice its length and youll want more rake angle on the front forks with dual steering dampers and ceramic bearings throughout the whole machine. Also get the crank and flywheel zero balanced with mercury tube balancing..The best engine to use is a vintage racing kart 22hp 70cc McCulloch methanol powered 2 stroke engine..That engine is capable of powering a 125lb race kart from Zero to 85mph in 5-6 seconds easily so it should perform comparably if not better on 2 wheels.................Peace

Re: Banshee for Speed World Record?

you want something along the lines of a bms, grc rr not a cag..

you will then need to heavily modify it, lighten everything, get rid of all parts not needed, extend the rear swinga and stretch the front forks out, get some good quailty steering dampers, relocate the foot pegs to the rear axle and put a crazy spocket set on it, like 10 - 40 or something..

Bahh. Extended swing arm? raked out headstem? How fast do you think its gonna go? If we're talking about a pocketbike specific speed record you'll have to use no more than a 51cc. I say, get good leathers and 1 really special motor. (maybe a custom screen/fairing so you can tuck in behind it)

Re: Banshee for Speed World Record?

well you want it low, and with the extended swing arm you will be able to put your legs back and lay down more.. But your right, need a good set of leathers and helmet..

Re: Banshee for Speed World Record?

We need to beat an average of 86mph over a flying one mile in both directions.
