blata 2.5 to origami b1 replica - yes / no ??

Anyone here made the switch from blata 2.5 to the origami b1 replica ?? just wonder what differnces you found in terms off overall speed differnce etc ?? as an owner off a blata 2.5 fitted with 14/14 carb, k&n filter, race reeds, race clutch springs am now seriously thinking off making the change to the b1 replica especially now that here in the uk a 2005 spec version ( ladder type frame etc ) can be had for only £325, realise that they do have there problems but from what I have read these problems can be sorted out without problem. just feel that I prefer the overall riding confort off this slightly bigger bike and also the fact that it would hopefully be much faster standard than the modified blata 2.5 ??

anyone made the change from blata 2.5 to origami b1 replica ??

Ok first of there is no comparison with a c1 and a 2.5. The c1 is so much faster. The question is do you want to give up your Czech or Italian made bike( I dont care were it's made) for a cheap chinese bike. From my point of veiw yes, but you will have to have time on your hands.

My Buudy Has A 2.5 That Isn't Fast. It Also Runs Like Crap. I Think Switching To A B1 Replica Would Be A Good Upgrade.

My 13 year old has done it, slight problem with getting the power in the corners at the right time, but hell do it when he's ready.

I rode it and was amazed, for the price holds a steady line and plenty of power, and I haven't hit anything like full throttle. The difference I think is great. Well worth the £350 I paid.

Ive owned both the 2.5 and C1. I ended up selling my C1 but kept my 2.5. Quality concerns me when I race and do wrench time on my bikes. I would rather use my off time to race and ride on my bikes rather than deal with mechanical and maintenance issues. I repair and do alot of wrench time on machines for a living and Im the type of person that really doesnt want to bring work related stress to my leisure time. So I ended using the money I got from selling the C1 and getting a used $600 A/C Blata Elite11. Now that is much as a brand new C1 bike.

So now that all depends on what the rider is concerned about with comparing these 2 bikes. Hope this will help you make your decision on getting a C1 over keeping your 2.5

Blata 2.5:
Pros: quality made parts and welds, very reliable and easy to work on

Cons: not as fast as a watercooled bike but can give a China cag bike a run for their money.

C1:
Pros: very fast for its price tag, can even go faster with a few other mods

Cons: quality isnt there, much harder to work on, since its watercooled it will have more maintenance issues over and A/C Blata 2.5

I have ridden my blata twice as long as my cag without having a single serious or complicated problem. the worst that has happened was my exhaust broke. just got it re-welded and the carb popped off because it wasnt tightened correctly. thats 2 things my blata has done. I have a long list for my cag...

starter broke(Yes i pulled it out 3 times slowly then one short tug)
petcock constantly clogs and its made of platic
float sticks
chain warped (I dont want to know how this happened)
bolts rattled off. because of this I no longer have a chain gaurd.(I know I know loctite)
leaks from every crevice. You can tell the difference between where my blata sits and my cag sits. the cags spot is a big wet slick.

quite honestly man I would just sell your 2.5 and save up a little more for something(European) other than a chinese pos.

2.5s are top line. Blata makes a good bike. Way 2 meny people have problems with china bikes expectly the C1 and cag. I think if you modified a blata 2.5 could take a C1 if the blata had the right mods on it. I've raced one of my team members he had a blata and a C1. And I raced my old blata and in the middle of the race I was right on his tail and his bike stauled and he couldent get it running nothing was rong exept the water pump peace broke off. The bike was onley 3 days old. After that he sold it on ebay and used the money for new fairing for his 2.5. But it does'nt matter how fast you go it's how much fun you have but I just don't think you could have fun with a china bike I've owned one there not all that good. I spent more time fixing it more then rideing it. I've never fixed one thing with my old blata. But I can't wait untill my next one comes I'm still waiting for it in the mail.

The B1 replica we carry in our store is air cooled and does not have near the problems the water cooled version does.

I dont think the change would be that big of a deal from the 2.5 to the replica I have a 2.5 along with a blata 13wr and a c1 with most of the upgrades to be honest the c1 is a piece of _ _ _ _ If I had to do it over again I would not have bought the c1 you can get a good used pocket bike for the price you will have into the c1 with the up grades and not have near the problems
