Cleaning a C1 Air Filter

I've bought a K&N air filter cleaning kit and it comes with some oil as well. Does anyone know if I should oil the filter after cleaning and what effect it will have on the filters performance.

Thanks

yes use the oil. It keeps it from drying out. and helps to keep dirt out too
