First Post, Front brake disk?

Hi everyone I been reading most of the post in this site about water-cool bikes and decided to get one. This is my first post and I want to thank everyone for the valuable information. I got a black one, I took it apart, balance the wheels and painted them black (only in the center), replace the bearings in both wheels and steering shaft, replace most bolts, took the frame to be poutercorated and am rapping the exhaust pipe now.
My question is this,
Is it ok to ride with only one disk brake disk in the front wheel?
Is it necessary to have 2 disk in the front?
In addition, if is possible, do the disk brake pads and disk need to be upgraded?

Im thinking of only using one disk in the front wheel and changing the brake lever for only one disk instead of 2 but I don’t know if is a good Idea.

Any help I can get on the matter will be appreciated, THANKS

Exclamation You need all the brakes you can get!

Your C1 goes over 50+ mph that second front brake is there for a reason.

When properly set I think one rotor in the front will be enough..

Its important that the calipers float on the holdingpins.

P10luis, Thank for the respond but there is a good amount of bikes that do 50+ and they only have one disk, that is why I was asking.

A3t, you are correct, I had to do some modification to get the calipers to float. The rear calipers were good but the front ones were stock. By the way your bike is beautiful, that red is nice, THANKS..

Thank you

I have noticed that the stock pins are very bent, so an easy way to solve this is to put washers between the pins and the holder until the caliper moves freely.

Another more serious way of solving it is to buy GRC holding pins that are perfect.

I just went and got some new brake levels and holy cow. They made the same difference that they made on my cag. The two brake disks grab real good now. Got ride of the soft feeling they have stock. I had to do some fabricating to get them to work with the dual setup. It’s all good now
