GRC running hot!!!!

Look at this radiator the inlet and outlet are on the same cap!! How will the water flow threw the veins to cool it?

HAHA, good joke! That rad isn't from a GRC, it's from a Chinese GP3/RR replica.

The bikes I have seen with that rad have run fine. Maybe you need to bleed the air from the cooling system?

Re: GRC running hot!!!!

he's right theres no cross flow so how is the water supposed to cool? it just goes in one way and straight back out bypassing the entire radiator.

Re: GRC running hot!!!!

i believe theres a divider in the middle so the coolant goes all the way through. it works just fine. a few of the proper BZM radiators are setup this way too.

good job smashing the bottom too, its probably blocking off coolant flow

Their is no divider in this one.I'm going to add a line were the Allen wrench is and use the top for filler tube.

Re: GRC running hot!!!!

Well you need that to cross flow or it will always overheat . i personally would take the one onthe top right and drill that out and tap it for a larger fitting and use that one coming from the head to the radiator then use the lower left to go back to the water pump with and then use the top left to your bottle . this will cross flow and you wont have a problem with it . got a pic of the bike ??

Re: GRC running hot!!!!

yes, I will post a pic later tonight of the bike. Oh and I wasn't trying to play this off as a GRC the first time I tried to post it didn't go threw thanks to the way the sites been acting. The second time I was so ****ed that I didn't type it all again. Also thinking of just cutting the right side reservoir and welding a plate in there then it will have tons of flow side to side like the BZM's

Re: GRC running hot!!!!

those grc reps run very cool most of the time if your overheating its like 2bamp says not bled properly, which is hard to believe because you just have to open the bolt and let the water purge out then close it.

OR the internal pump is screwed. which is again pretty likely with the dodgy motors.

but the radiator definitely has a divider in there, it would get nice warm all over its surface. i think i still have a spare one i might butcher it open

Re: GRC running hot!!!!

yes it has a divider in it!!!! dont butcher yours lol send it to me !!! I should rename this tread to the g2 build the engine is in peices and the pump looks good but theres some scales built up on the walls of the pump housing it might have been causing it to not pump right or restricking the flow some how. Oh yea and what good parts fit this engine? thinking of putting a good water pump in it .also started some port matching and polishing . were the head met up was a litlle off not bad but I smothed it out a little. going back with the BZM gasket set and not sure what else. the stock del 19 rep seems to work very well.

Re: GRC running hot!!!!

good work, you can increase the reed lift a fair bit like the blata motors aside from that there isnt a huge deal to do.

the browny scale just builds up in there unless its caking up behind the impellor i wouldnt worry.

only the polini reverse parts fit in there. only thing i know thatll go in from bzm is the special reverse 6 port head and gold crank for the reverse.

just better bearings all over and a polini pump + seal kit should see it run okay.

and definitely put the gen polini coil box on! the stock one impedes the revs of the motor even at stock.

other mod you can do is take out the reed stuffers and open the inlet to 19mm instead of the 14mm they come as.
