Angry I Need Help Bad

I have a polini 911 rep. and for some reason it will not carry a load. It sat for a month or two but I have cleaned the tank, carb and added new fuel. With the rear tire off the ground it rev's out with no problem at all, but as soon as you put a load on it I get nothing. After giving it 6 blocks or so it eventually rev's out and moves like nobody's business. I have taken the clutch cover off and inspected it to the best of my abilities and it looks fine. Im kinda new to this so maybe Im just not looking for the right thing. The shoes look fine and the springs seem firm. I need some help here guys it ran fine before, but looking back at it now this problem occured before but not nearly as bad. If anyone could guide me through this it would be greatly appreciated. I love the bike and want to get riding again soon. Help me guys Im begging you.

got the choke off try running it without the cap in the tank as well. they have a very very tiny vent hole that gets clogged easy and then you wont get fuel flowing.

the stock dreambike clutch is very very shoddy as well. it takes forever to it to hit powerband with that thing.

give a new spark plug a try as well. and make sure the coil gap is still right

You cleaned your carb, but did you look at the reed block? If it sat, you may have gas residue gumming it up so it doesn't open well at low rpm, but it will open after you finally pick up speed. Just a thought.

Heh, I now own this exact bike. I was searching for tips on some problems I was having and recognized the user name of the original poster as the guy I bought my bike from. I'm pretty much still having the same issue. It has a new clutch. No muffler (looking to get one). And it has been fouling the plug.

Which clutch is the new clutch? If it's fouling plugs than it is still running the stock jet which is a #80 main jet so it's running way rich. You should be closer to a #70 main +/-. And good lord get a pipe for it.

It's running rich, check the plug I bet it's black and wet. The weather has also got better since the last time you used it and that's why it's rich. Put a dellorto and jet it properly and all your troubles will be left behind.

Re: I Need Help Bad

The old plug didn't look too bad. Nice brown/tan color. But it had some oil on it, and the bike seems to be burning a lot of oil as well. But then again that could just be because of the richness. I'm not too familiar with 2-strokes so you'll have to forgive me there. I figured the hot and humid weather here in Kentucky could have something to do with it as well. The relative humidity yesterday was nearly 100%.

As for the clutch, all I know is that the brand is KG clutch factory.

The bike has a pipe, just no muffler attached at the end. It's pretty loud for my tastes and I'm not trying to make the neighbors mad if you catch my drift. I was hoping I could just find a small muffler and have it welded on. As for the carb jets, do they have any identification on them so I can tell what size they are?

Thanks for the warm welcome and fast replies!

Re: I Need Help Bad

No the jets aren't marked in anyway at all. But I believe you can fit a Bing main jet into that carb as thay have the same size threads(6mm x 1.25 thread pitch) which will be marked. That must be just another stock clutch you have on it. So what fuel ratio are you using? Your going to need to get the clutch adjusted right too. Measure each spring with a set of digital calipers and adjust each nut above each spring so they are the same length. You want the clutch adjusted so when you turn the throttle slowly that when it engages it will make the front wheel jump up. I'll guess that you don't have a tach for the bike which makes adjusting the clutch much easier. But anyway adjust the clutch some and try it adjust some and try it again until you get the feel I'm talking about you may need to do it afew times to get it right. You should have to rev the bike up pretty high to get the clutch to engage and if you had a tach it would be up around 7000 to 8500 rpm's with that stock clutch. That is the 3 shoe clutch right? I got lucky when I got my 911 rep cause it came with a Zocchi carbium clutch (or how ever you spell that) in it.

bytheway welcome to the site!!!

Re: I Need Help Bad

I had a long response typed out last night that I thought I had posted, but I guess it didn't go through.

Anyway I think the clutch is my problem. It engages way too low. I have digital calipers and was ready to adjust it just now but I was confused by what I found. It didn't look like my old cag when I took the pull start off. How do I adjust this clutch? Do I need to remove the nut in the center to see the springs?

Also: I have the oil at 50:1 now. After reading it seems a china motor should have more oil, like 40:1 or even 32:1? Which one should I go with?
