Re: Just got my Banshee SHO starts Smooth but..

i bought my bike from tsunami, in canada.

i have been looking at there parts for the polini/banshee bikes hear is the link.

http://www.tsunamibike.com/page/page/3110805.htm

could somebody direct me witch sprocket would fit this bike ?

i would like to purchase from them again, there shipping was great and they are close by in canada.

i dont want to purchase the wrong one and have my chain fly off on me or somthing

my last bike the chain slipped and bent the rear sproket a bit. i think it was because it was a low budget china bike and it loosened up over time.

anyways, thanks so much guys for the help. I hope to get this new sprocket ASAP if its cheap, i have removed the rear wheel and taken the old sprocket off my old bike so i could deffinatly do this upgrade myself, just have to make sure i put the chain back on at propper tension and align the rear wheel propperly.

I have yet to do this, Is there any special ways to ensure you make your wheel 100% strait? im sure if its off it can stress the chain or worse...

Thanks for all your patience guys,

-peace

13:1 Dome - 92 octane or higher would be the one i would want to purchase right?

as any other fuel would be a little hard to locate? 92 octane is just premium pump fuel right?

should i purchase this after modifying my clutch?

no you want the 15-1 dome. stock on a banshee is 13-1 so if you get that one you're not inproving anything. with the 15-1 you have an option to run 103-110 octane. and still be able to run 93 if you can't get higher stuff. i run the 15-1 on 93 all day long...

Re: Just got my Banshee SHO starts Smooth but..

the first thing you should do is adjust the clutch on these bikes.

Heres the link

is this for all engines?

Re: Just got my Banshee SHO starts Smooth but..

Yes its for a polini engine you have a polini rep . If your motor has a MLS head gasket setup the ADA head WILL NOT!!!! work on it . It is for a o ring type cylinder . First off set your squish just listen to us you will not regret the time it takes to do it . I PROMISE!!!! change out the metal reeds to polini C/F reeds and change the carb to the Del 19 Rep carb and be sure to get the jet kit for it . BZM clutch springs and adjust the clutch . and a 68 T rear sprocket . Thats it
you dont need anything else to make this thing a beast ..

Ok, sounds great !

so first would be squish

then clutch

then gear sprocket

then the new dome?

does that sound like a better order? i am a bit worried as i am VERY un-technical i have never worked on any kind of engine before. I hope i can pull this off, Adjusting the squish i did not quite understand but hopefully if i read over them a few times i will begin too.

Re: Just got my Banshee SHO starts Smooth but..

hey guys, just another quick question what did you all do to get that **** water bottle out of the way of left turns? it cuts out a good 30-40% of my left turning ability at slower speeds when not leaning, just curious if there is anything i can do to get this out of the way of the break cable/throttle cables

you could get a real polini or grc waterbottle. its much smaller. or stick with the stock bottle and put shims where it mounts and move it over 1/4 of an inch to get more steering. also rearrange the cables to get more steering. the real bottles are much smaller and free up all the steering the bike offers. i did the grc units on two of my bikes and did the mod on the other...you could get the polini or grc on midsouth they bolt right on.

Re: Just got my Banshee SHO starts Smooth but..

i was riding my banshee today, and noticed that when traveling under slower speeds, before the power band grabs the ride is bumpy, even on smooth pavement it feels like u are going over bumps, and then when the power band engages everything feels like it smooths out. could the cylinder have tightened up around the piston or somthing?

im worried somthing is wrong with it, any help would be great.

Re: Just got my Banshee SHO starts Smooth but..

hear is a video trying to demonstrate what i mean.

http://blip.tv/file/922087/

it sounds, and feels like the piston cylender is tighter or somthing and the piston is not traveling smoothly through it, i dont understand how this would have happened when i was very genorous on the first tank of gas and now this one with how much oil i mixed in, and im almost positive the radiator is working as i had to fill it up 2 times before it was full so i know the lines got full, whats going on hear? or is this normal for water cooled bikes? the previous bikes i had, rear tires spun very easly. could my chain be to tight or the gear sprocket near the front of the bike to tight or somthing?

will the piston cylender expand and fit the piston better as i break the bike in? i am very confused, and worried that this bike is a complete right-off now when i just spent every penny i had on it.

Re: Just got my Banshee SHO starts Smooth but..

Hey bro that chain is way too tight . it needs a little play in it . you also need to lube that chain with a light lubricant when ever you get it out . weekly at the least. You wont have any noise coming from the motor since it has a centrifical clutch and its not running .
just loosen up that chain and make sure to tighten the axle back up good n tite!!!!!

Re: Just got my Banshee SHO starts Smooth but..

thank you very much for that, there is a slight scrapping sound of metal comming from the engine or someware on the bike when i wheel it backwards. any idea what is making it?

i have not lubed the chain since i got it as i do not have any lubricant and was going to be making my trip to pick up some today, would wd-40 be good?

also how loose should the chain be? i did not touch this one out of the box as i did not want to make it too loose and have it skip up off the gear on me.

I had a feling the bumpy ride might be from the tight-unlubricated chain, but i feared the worst!

thank you for easing my tensions, i will keep you guys up to date and let u know if this fix's the issue!
