I would have to agree. I'm getting a polini 6.2 watercooled, which has a race pipe and other mods, which put it to about 8 hp, and will blow right past these cag w/c bikes, and all for 850. Its used, but if you're mechanically inclined, you can definitely fix the things that need to be fixed. OR, there's a guy selling a used polini 6.2 aircooled, just as fast or even faster than this w/c cag, and its practically brand new, for just 800.
You can't beat the quality of a good italian or czech bike. I've learned the hard way, as have others who ride cags. They are great starter bikes, but if I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't have bought any performance mods for the cag, and did all the mods myself. The most anyone should spend on a cag is 50 bucks. Anything more, save your money and get a euro...and this is coming from a person who has done ALL the mods possible on a cag.
The cag taught me a lot about 2 strokes and how to tune...so that was the benefit of getting a cag. But, I'm moving up to a polini...TOMORROW

There also is no 4hp model. The full and half fairing models all use the same design of 40cc (there is no 47 or 49cc) just advertising. They put out 2.5hp at the back tire and 2.9hp at the crank.
The B1 copy is not 12hp it is 6.5hp at the engine but the bike is very heavy and does not handle that well due to it's weight. There are also breaking issues due to the qaulity. Once you get it you will have to replace the tires with real tires Sava or PMT at about 120 a pair then clutch upgrade then go through it and try and shave all the weight you can on the bike. The China copy is a great bike for under 500 but over that your better off going used Euro. |
