So looking on the plus side, look how many people are into the sport.
For the amount of bikes sold in this country the amount of people into the sport side of minimoto is pathetic to say the least. Most people buy bikes and never go to the track. If they were getting into the sport the track attendance numbers would be much higher all over the country.

I totally agree. Why buy a one if your not gonna race it but then again it makes a good dresser piece
Sure it's great they are coming out with cheaper duplications but please do not expect them to ride or even run the same. You have to remember the Italian bikes are so expensive for 1 reason "Quality Control" "Quality Manufacturing" when it comes to the proddy race bikes. I am a firm beleiver of you get what you pay for. If the Italians made a mid sized race bike like the X series I would probably be all over it
Man, this really ****es me off. I think I'm going to sell my DM now. Screw this. I bet the GRC RR copies won't be that far behind. What else...ZPF copies? BZM engine copies?

Don't sell your DM, swap it for my Blata B1 copy.. I'll take it off your hands.

to name a few more bikes, atm, bms, stamas, grc. they aren't gonna stop until they copy all the italians.
lol this is funny because it will really hurt the resale value of the originals.
NOT...Come on now...do you honestly think it's going to be as good as the original DMs...Quality, materials used, welds, Billet Alum. clutch...etc...You get what you pay for!

i'm luvin every minute of it. i'm laughing my A#& OFF reading these postings! ha ha ha!!! the different opinions crack me up!
but rock on. more power to em! even before i knew this sport, when i came across the first pocket for 3 grand, i just about soiled myself! (actually i think i did) guys, it doesn't cost that much to build these bikes! and guess what?? the chinese are proving it! grc, blata, and all the others are making money hand over fist off you euro guys. i'm glad that somebody is FINALLY putting them in their place! and guess what else? i'm sure the euro riders will be awfully happy when euro prices drop (because they definitely will now). or i guess they could be mad, if they already bought their bike! (whoops) but seriously though. can you imagine how P'd off the euro manufacturers must be?? whoa! well we all know they won't be the first to be undersold by China! am i right?? remember when the Oakley copies came out? i believe they called them Jokelys! and how bout the rolex copies? I even bought one of those! (piece of junk)
but it's true. anyway you slice it. this WILL help the sport grow. no doubt about it. i've taken more economic classes than you can shake a stick at, and this is how it works! regardless of the criticisms, China's making it possible for the guys who have never even seen 3 grand before! it's letting us little (poor) guys catch up, and catch up fast! the euro lovers will always be euro lovers. the chinese lovers will mostly stay chinese lovers. but the real point here is, CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG?? i mean, that's why we're all here right? trying to get this sport off the ground? because nothing's getting done by rankin' on eachother. that's for sure!

they will come close but never compare. When I purchased my first f/f cag I thought it was the bomb until I bought a Polini 910 liquid then upgraded to the GRC GP 7.5 plus had the chance to test ride the GRC RR 4.2 and a DM Brutale. Just from sitting on the Italian made bikes you can tell right away your about to ride something fast and reliable. Sure it's fun to tool around on a China plus race them but to really be competative I suggest going Italian.
Not everyone can afford them so the next best is to buy the China versions but be prepared to spend some $$ and time to make them competative.
Completely agree... I race in Colorado and out of all the racers there are probably only 3 that are Euro bikes, the rest from China.
There are a lot of kids that race and there is no chance that they would be racing now if their parents had to go out and spend $3K a piece for their bikes.. For a family with 3 kids that's $9K... lots of dosh.
If it wasn't for the China bikes there wouldn't be any racing in Colorado anyway. I'm glad there are cheap bikes around, for one I probably wouldn't have gotten in to the sport if I had to spend $3K to see if I liked it or not. Instead I've spent probably $900 on my C1 including upgrades (not including replacing tyres, clutch pads, etc). Love the sport and trying to talk my wife into letting me buy a Euro next season.
The cheap bikes has also allowed me to race three different classes as it costs peanuts to buy a China air cooled. Again if I had to spend real money to race the additional classes I wouldn't have bothered.
I do get fed up with having to continuously work on my China bikes because of things breaking but as someone others on this thread have pointed out..... You get what you pay for!!!
At the end of the day who really cares...other than the manufactures.

You make some very strong points but again if you have a chance adn know someone with a GRC RR Midi just take it around for a few laps then jump on the C1 CHina bike then you make your choice.
The closest copy and so far the best seems to be the Banshee which they did an excellent job duplicating but they still need to trash that cheap plastic they use for the fairings. The Blata Elite copy also looks very good but the frame is questionable especially if it's just the h/f cag frame because those were just way off spec. If you got one that was on you were lucky

You make good points as well. They are good platform bikes for beginners specially younger kids. I just hope China does a good job in dulpicating the DM and improve their reliability.
Enough ranting from me All this talk of bikes is getting me excited.
gotta be honest. those blata boys at my track are still giving me a run for my Banshee money! that's for sure. and my bike is tricked! but i think i see this in another light. i mean, if you have the fastest, nicest bike right off the bat, then what will you have to strive for?? (for the next 20 yrs) these chinese bikes are giving everyone a chance to go through them, and understand how they work. i didn't know squat about PBing, but now that i've been through my banshees, i get it! and also, riding skills. who wants to crack up a 3000 dollar bike?? you need something to learn on! (and not kill yourself mind you) who knows, maybe one day i will be worthy of a euro. i wouldn't mind having one someday. but right now i'm just having fun!
