Teaser - DM replicas from China

Anyone interested in Chinese copies of the DM Midi 10.5? Arguably the Ferrari of all pocket bikes. Purchase price will be substantially less than the $2800 you'd expect to pay for the real DM Telai product and probably in line with the Banshee prices when they first arrived on the scene.

More information to come!

I cant wait for the knock off DM's to come over to the states. I would love to race one. I understand that the price tag of a real DM is a bit steep but you get what you pay for. If anyone gets one please bring it to fremont ohio so we can compare. frank

I'd rather see the chinese develope their own chassis. They are able to build midbike's, so why can't they design a minimoto on their own.

i think it could be a good thing. because some people cannot afford the real bike but really want to participate in racing and really enjoy it. so they can get a knock off and still race.. then they can save up through out their time racing and get the real bike if they want.. isnt the main thing to get people racing?

just a though.

Who cares? The people who buy the non china built bikes, are going to keep buying them....because...well, listen to yourselves.

The people who are buying the rip off brands are getting them because us poor folk can't spend the $3k to buy a real one, because our freaking cars don't cost $3k!

Do you think people buying the china bikes don't want a real DM, Balta, etc?

NO! Of course we don't! We buy a Fiero because it kinda looks like the Ferrari, not because it cost a fraction of the price….. I mean why have the real deal when you can have something that looks like the real deal…..

I think you guys should welcome anyone who gets into your sport, because with out people that are intrested in it, it will die and go away. Lets all be friends here.

I think it's cool that the Chinese are ripping things off. It's a shame for the Euro companies who might think they're losing business, but I doubt they are. Still, I'm hoping the flood of cheap China bikes will bring down the price of the Euros.

My Lucky 7 is the best $225 I've spent in a long time, it's the one thing that brought me into the hobby. Without my China bike, I would have never grown to love riding these things and justified buying my DM 10 midi, and now I want an in between Euro. Let's face it, the Euros are very expensive toys that would scare away any sane person that's never ridden a PB before.

The China bikes are actually growing the sport, not Euro bikes that can cost the same as a real full size motorcycle.

A good analogy is the US car industry. The US and British were historically the best in the world. Then these cheap little Japanese cars came in the 60s, caught on decades later and improved the reliability of all cars today. Now the Koreans are making cheaper versions of Toyotas, but just as reliable. Next, we'll see Chinese cars as the next cheap car, but in 10 years a lot of us will be driving them. Still, a Ferrari (Euro bike) will always be a Ferrari, although we all know Porsches (DMs) are the best.

Well put....

But the whole thing is, china is coming up from behind like uncle johnny on your 12 year old brother. Sooner or later we're going to have to face the facts. That china is ripping off cars/bikes etc and selling for a lot less. They don't care, and are going to keep doing it. And us living in the USA love cheap crap. Thats why wal-mart is kicking so much butt. I hate what it is doing to the U.S. and I don't want to see the euro bikes go away. But sorry guys, way of life.....

So looking on the plus side, look how many people are into the sport. Your ride your $3000 bike proud, because if I had a lambo, I sure as hell would be getting boobies shoved in my face and with a smile!!!!
