Question Still looking for a Lucky 7...

Even after being screwed by MiniPocketRockets.com, I've been looking for a Lucky 7 for over a year now. I have all these parts for one -- just sitting here, collecting dust for the same length of time. I refuse to pay out the butt for an L7 considering that you USED to be able to get them for $230 shipped and less.

If there's any REASONABLE/NON-GOUGING offers out there, please help out a guy who has had it up to his wits end, and may just give up the sport of pocketbike racing before he's ever had the chance to own one himself...

Thanks all.

-JB

MiniPocketRockets.com is a bunch of bait-and-switch scammers, and I refuse to buy anything from them ever again. Plus, I have all these parts for the L7 laying around that I actually want to use. So, if someone can get me a Lucky 7/RSA, I want one...

I actually have been looking at Craigslist and eBay every so often for quite awhile now (just got done looking at both before I replied), but I keep coming up empty-handed. It seems most people who have an L7 hold onto them, or want outrageous prices since you can't get them in the States anymore.

I've even called Canadian and British companies, asking how much it would cost to ship them over here. They all say they can't guarantee if it will clear customs, and wouldn't be responsible for any problems encountered. Plus, the prices are also insane due to the shipping and duty fees and whatnot.

The Raptor is what I was going for as well, since it is a Lucky 7. BUT, as I said (and others have said), they DO NOT HAVE THEM IN STOCK, and haven't for a loooooooooong time (I'd say 1-1/2 years+). SO what they do, is entice you with the Raptor's low price, lie about having them in stock, and then pull a bait-and-switch on you and send you the rear-suspensioned inferior GP RS-R as an "upgrade". Most people see it was more expensive on the website, and assume it IS better, but it is in fact NOT better (and in reality, worse).

Others, like me, know MPR is full of crap, and attempt to send the bike back. BUT, they try to scam you by charging a 20% restocking fee, the shipping BACK to them, and the shipping it cost THEM to send it to you. Either way, the scammers make money.

MPR is horrible, I'm sorry...

I still have my Lucky 7 that I bought back in 2004. I had no idea that these were so hard to find until now!

Why are these so admired? Why are they so rare nowadays?

I'm willing to put mine up for sale if anyone is interested!

Yes, I like tits too.

Seriously I had no idea about them. I've never modified mine either. Maybe I oughta pay more attention to it like I do my Blata B1.

Re: Still looking for a Lucky 7...

Yeah man, the Lucky 7's are very solid machines for being CAGs. I've seen my buddies' pocketbikes break constantly, and I don't want that happening to me. Thus my desire for a quality L7.

Is there a difference between the older L7's and the newer models? I was under the impression that the 2006's and 2007's were updated?

Also, I appreciate the replies and offers! I don't really want a heavily modified/expensive one. I have a bunch of parts already, and I can't get too far ahead of my buddies so that when we race, it will be at least SEMI-fair, LOL!

I have gotten a couple replies to my Craigslist "Want to Buy" -- one was a GP RS-R, the very bike I had to return to MPR.com, and the other doesn't look to be a Lucky.

Well, I'm trying to figure out if there is a difference between a 2004 and the newer models. I don't want the many parts I have accumulated to not work/fit! If there isn't a conflict there, I'll definitely take your bike under consideration!
