just bought a second hand X-12 Super pocket rocket, idk where to put the oil, there is a oil hole next to the kick starter but my dad thinks that is for the crank case oil, any ideas?
guess i should start thinking with my dipstick, ok, another question, what kind of oil goes into it? and also, could old/bad oil cause for rough shifting?
although 5w-30 is recommended, I use Mobile 1 for motorcycles, 10w-40 and haven't had any shifting problems at all.
Useing automotive oil is not as good because motorcycle oil has more polymers, fillaments like spaghetti strings that get chopped up by the gears in the transmission of a motorcycle, since the same oil is used for both engine and transmissions, except on Harley's v-twins. That kid of oil lasts longer and works better. Your bike will thank you!
