Clutch Springs...

Hey guys,

I need some suggestions on clutch springs. Ian and me rode at our super semi secret riding area last night. It was in the dark of course but it was fun.
We rode around about 45 minutes and all of a sudden my clutch started to drag at idle. I could tell right away the spring were stretching. So after about 10 minutes of pushing it and riding it anyway they let go altogether This is the third set of springs I've gone through. The first was the stock ones were one snapped. The next was a aluminum clutch with some really weak springs. Those disintegrated. The pair i have in now are the thicker springs from daves motors on the stock steel clutch. I'll have to measure them and get the mm size. But they did engage the clutch much higher.
So i was wondering if anyone could recommend soem higher quality springs maybe. Any idea would be great.

I think you should sell it and buy a great BMS proddy at a blow out price of $1000.

Just ditch the stock 3 shoe setup. The banshee one works much better. The non banshee adjustable clutch slips like crazy. The only difference between the cag adjustable and the banshee is the shoe material. XP has the banshee ones modified for the cag for $40.

Re: Clutch Springs...

LOL. i can't blow $1000 on a proddy. I'd buy a polini engine and throw it in my L7 frame before i do that. Especially since i need to blow $300 on a chain and sprockets for my CBR 600.
Bonzai. I'll look inot those. i was looking into the adjsutable cag one last year when i bought these springs but decided not to becasue of the two shoe and read about some of the slipping issues. I'll have to look at that banshee one. XP? are they xtremepocketbikes.com?

OK Bigshotbob how about $999.00

Slapping a polini motor in a Cag frame could ruin all that is good in the world..And perhaps cause children to starve to near death in third world countries.

Re: Clutch Springs...

no he meant for his Cag since that's all he has. I have the ZPF. You're mixing up your Dithering Race Team dudes ;-)

speaking of... the ZPF is awesome now that Eddie tweaked it. I've practiced with it a few times and it has a lot more power.

Re: Clutch Springs...

yep i meant the cag. i know it'd be dirty. LOL. wouldn't be worth my time though. $999 dollars sounds more like it. Maybe some day i'll have a proddy. i think one would fit nicely unde ra Christmas tree. The wife was asking what i'd like for Christmas.
