Not your average Radio Flyer

Ok first off I was told to put this thread here by the mods until they found a better place for it. When you do mods, please feel free to relocate

So I posted up a pic of one of my current projects when I introduced myself. Many of you wanted to see more so here it is . It is a radio flyer wagon with a custom made full suspension (based of a 32 ford hotrod) chassis with a 110cc 4 speed manual electric start motor.

I will let the pics do most of the talkin.

Start of it all.

Re: Not your average Radio Flyer

And here are 2 random ones .

Half of my shifter assembly.

Front suspension parts

So thats where I am at basically. Needed a small break from it . Since every single part has to be hand made, it gets a bit tiring so I picked up my x15. Which brings me here

More to come soon guys .

Looking good so far..Youre doing a really nice job............Keep going on it...

I know the tediousness of fabbing things from scratch or modding parts to work...Ive been there many-many times and right now I have 6 unfinished projects that were supposed to be finished 20 projects ago...lol

This was built from scratch and it took me a 3 weeks to do after a 3 week parts hunt and gather up to get it completed...........Having a fully equipped basement with amenities helps out alot too...........

Keep up the good work..

Here is one of the front arms finished . Still need to touch up the welds to make everything neat and pretty. Thinking about sending these out to get chrome plated .

Well the frame and junk are getting powder coated red. This will be in several car show circuits including the autorama world of wheels series so no cutting corners for me , and money is not an issue. I have many connections and it wont cost me anything so why not lol. And I am not using that tube for an axle . That was just mock up. Have not gotten the real axle yet.

ok alright. some people say POR15 is better than powdercoat though.

if you can do it otherwise for free, thats great

may i suggest another forum too if you are looking for more input here DIY Go Karts - Free Building Plans - Karts and Mini Choppers

i bet theyd love to see it in progress. wild projects like this are awesome!

its amazing how much engineering and fabrication can go into a wagon

Re: Not your average Radio Flyer

Did some work on the front end today . Not welding anything together until I get the front shocks. ( using rears for mock up, fronts are shorter) Its coming along nicely .

Might have to rob the guages off my x15 for the wagon

More updates coming as soon as I get another nice day.
