Re: what cag is this?

its better than a pipe with no chamber but it could be better. its only got holes half way up the pipe in the muffler so i removed half the wadding and it sounds really nice, i dont see why people keep removing the muffler can all together, it just makes it sound stupid lol

Re: what cag is this?

I got this pipe from Canada, for $24 shipped, I had a Pro Jet on before, it's my fastest Cag, and it has a Straight pipe and baffled muffler, and it's as good or better.

Re: what cag is this?

when your riding the bike and you get to full throttle, it bogs for a moment then you get a sudden really strong boost for a moment twice as long as the bog, then it bogs again then boost then bog and it just keeps doin that. if you let off the throttle a bit nothing really changes but if you hit the sweet spot itl fun flat out without boggin. the bikes currently runnin 6/68 gearing, i think it could deffinately benifit from higher gearing, either 7/68 or 6/ something, have a look at this vid and tell me what you think

Re: what cag is this?

It sounds like youve got the good ole reedflutter studder if your jetting isnt mucked up..try the tin reed again to see if the powerband strengthens...if so get a stiffer aftermarket brand............Good Luck

Re: what cag is this?

its runnin the stock 68 jet and carbon fibre single reed which is pretty stiff, much stiffer than the stock reed. i also noticed the alumium vstack i ordered is wrong, its a 17mm hole which sits in the middle and above the hole in the carb i take it this cant be helpin matters much. is it worth puttin the stock tin reed behind the cf reed?

Re: what cag is this?

EPR, you mean the straight though pipe was pretty much on par with one that had an expansion chamber???

haha oh man, these chinese parts lol.

Just spent half the day fixing problems on the bike again, jesus its just annoying to work on these more than ride them. I think I'm gonna stop buying Chinese stuff, I'm thinking any carb of a 50cc scooter should be fine, just need some rejetting. As for the manifold I'll get one of the bigger ones and open it up more to fit the carb, or make an adaptor.

Re: what cag is this?

Thanks Jaloos, that's the one, I was sceptical at first and I replace my Jet Pro w/ that pipe, but I did mod it alittle.
When the 2 came, I took one and at the rear end, inside the pipe was some folded metal from the inside blocking half of the hole. So I hogged the crap out of the hole, put it on and it is Loud, and sounds Sick. It has a few baffles inside for back pressure.
It bolts right up and clears the gas tank better than the stock exhs.

Re: what cag is this?

That's my fastest Cag, even more than my Lucky 7 w/ the 5 port head and the L7 has a 16mm Walbro WT-603, but it is around 16:1 compression all the 3 ports modded, no base gasket, has the old finned head, FC crank and Sam's 14mm swirl bore re-jeted stock carb. Not much slower off the start than my water cooled 50cc C1. That's why I don't touch it, If it a not broke don't fix it,lol. My scooter came w/ a lawn mower exh. and it run great, but I put the HP exhaust that came extra w/ the scooter.

Re: what cag is this?

I think your one piece reed is what the problem is. You can buy pieces of Carbon Fiber material in different thickness, try a thinner reed, or like Cam2 said try the tin reeds, which you can't with no center piece.
I'll get back on the ported piston, it's been a long day.

Re: what cag is this?

I just put one of my 44mm Cag ported pistons in one of my Cateye heads. With the port hole facing intake, at TDC both ports are covered. The questions are 1. when the piston goes down at BDC the intake opens thru the piston port and there is a .150" of hole left at the intake port?? 2. When the piston starts up the holes pass by the intake port on the way up?? It will run, but is it right?? My first piston Mod on my 49cc Hot Rod eng. I cut the skirt and the exhaust was open .150" at TDC. It ran but it was hard to start had to prime it. But it has only been on my engine stand, never in a bike.
Need to talk to Cam2, or someone who knows more than I do,lol.

Re: what cag is this?

surely with a ported piston, if it can run itl run leane because as the window passes the inlet port or exhaust port, its gonna dump some of the preassure used to operate the pump in the carb

Re: what cag is this?

On a Cag it's more critical cause everything passes the crank and thru the cases.
