Re: gp3 rebilt but wont start help

Yeah the idle can be adjusted with a brass screw on your carb, toy with it till you get a slight bit of vibration in the chain, but no actual wheel spin. Also make sure that the way your idle is set you are getting a clean burn. To do this do a plug color check. If it is running too lean with your optiomal setting for the clutch, then sand the shoes some until you can get a proper burn and Idle RPM.

Re: gp3 rebilt but wont start help

Too rich = black and oily
Too lean = Grey and dry
Perfect = Golden brown

I have been asking myself for a while and I hope this doesent offend you, but the way you're typing is really weird... Whereabouts in the UK are you from?.. and does everyone type/speak this way there?

I mean no offence in any way, just wondering because I'm slightly dyslexic and have trouble understanding your sentences at times.

Keep up the good work, and GL with those new projects you picked up!

Re: gp3 rebilt but wont start help

half or quarter turns is fine. You can tell which way the screw needs to be turned by starting the bike, and if you add gas it should make it idle a little higher, give it less gas and it'll idle lower.

Tone it down about 3/4 turns, let it run for a bit then re check the plug.

Thats about right except when you lean an engine out it revs faster which requires an idle adjustment to stop clutch engagement and when you richen iy youll have to adjust the idle screw a bit higher to prevent stalling........

Re: gp3 rebilt but wont start help

A tip on starting that thing, if it has the foam air filter still. squish the air filter with you hand when you pull it, it will fire right up. The large carb opening makes it a beast to start, but blocking all air flow on the first couple pulls will bring in more gas and then once you remove your hand it will start. If it doesn't have the foam air filter, figure out a way to block the air flow for the first couple of pulls. Mine usually starts on one pull when i do this.

Re: gp3 rebilt but wont start help

My C1 50cc I have a 19mm Dell rep carb and the pipe holds the choke knob down. I got a squeeze bottle w/ a tube and put and end cap w/ a small hole. I turn it on it's side and squirt alittle gas on top the air filter, and it starts right up every time.
