Re: Clutch question

cylinder can vary from a little to a lot hotter. Boosted306's head kits are pretty solid from what i hear though, so I guess. It's just personal preference of what you want really. Less chance of me overheating and having to dish out more money = more chance of me being satisfied with this sport lol. It's funny how they say its a pretty cheap sport, but as a college kid, you only can work so much during college and at 7.50 an hour, it doesn't take you very far. Yes there is summer, but then there is the problem of owning a sports car and putting all your money into that lol.

Re: Clutch question

I really dont know how advancing the timing a little is going to make your engine run all that much more hotter. Anyways back to the main topic. Do they make aluminum 3 shoe adjustable clutches?

Re: Clutch question

well it advances the timing 10 degrees, i think.... which is alot but the only way to find out is by trying it, i run one but i have a low compression set up

and no their are no adjustable 3 shoe clutches for cags, well their are but they only fit the W/C bikes

Re: Clutch question

well i dont see how it makes it run hotter when its sparking the same rate as stock its just doing it sooner then if you were to use a stock key, its just sparking when the piston is at a more compressed state when regular keys are sparking when the pistion is starting to go down. Where could i find a aluminum 2 shoe adjustable clutch

Re: Clutch question

i just bought that banshee clutch from them. came in today. i didnt see anything you have to grind though? fit straight on. and ran great no slip at all. but idk if its supposed to have a key way or not. mine did not. and im not sure but i dont think it is tapered either. i bolted it up though and tightened it realy tight. but it was the best cheapest clutch i could find so far. i like it

Actually Jaunito I heard of people modding c1 clutches to fit, but you need a lathe. I believe it was bike mad yank that posted it. I will have to find the article and post it, b/c having a modded c1 clutch in your cag would be awesome.

Re: Clutch question

I recieved that same clutch from them with no keyway and no taper. I called them and told them it was wrong and shipped it back to them. They said when they recieve the old one with the note saying what i need to make it right they will ship the correct one out. You definatly have the wrong clutch. I have that same wrong one I ordered from DDM but it was less than half the price from them. I may just try to mod that one for my spare motor.

Re: Clutch question

rocket keys (advanced timing) is more so for high compression heads because the speed at which the fuel burns when running alcohol,methanol,etc...it is neccessary to advance the timing to run properly...hope that will help some in clearing up the confusion....

Re: Clutch question

Well i hear they are bad for head kits that have removable heads. I got the key in but my motor is just waiting for a pin bearing. so until then its sitting in my room with no head on it, other than that its all built. As soon as i get it put together and break in the new head kit ill let you know how it goes. For now its like 60-70 degrees right now but the highest its gets it like maybe 90 maybe 100 but thats usually a "record" day

Re: Clutch question

haha your in luck because I live in gilbert, az..well yea it will run fine but like I said advancing is usaully for fuel that burns slower like alcohol, if you keep the stock timimg firing at tdc you could add 10% acetone to you fuel to increase the burn rate, but you should be running on high octane or alcohol with 15:1 compression if it is true 15:1 compression(you should test it), if your running high octane or what ever with no advancement you could see a decrease in power, depend what you are running......

Yea it will run but you might get a lil decrease in performance, just try it both ways you might not even be able to tell with just a butt dyno, 91 in a 15:1 compression head ouch....p.s. do you got any spots to ride down here me and my friend are always looking for some competition and spots to ride....

Re: Clutch question

So my clutch is keyed but It didn't come with a key so i didn't even bother keying it, just the flywheel is keyed. I installed modded banshee and it seems to run fine, should I put in a key anyhow? And what size woodruff key should i buy if i should?
