Re: my x15 rebuild

nice, hope you get your x15 running and looking good. much respect to my fellow x15 members
im repainting mine. its gonna be candy apple red when im done i believe.

also, i noticed something that my x15 doesnt have that yours does. on the swing arm, you have what looks to be a metal plate that says, "off road use only". where that is on yours, that spot on my swing arm just had a "made in china" sticker which i removed awhile back.

Re: my x15 rebuild

have you tried looking at the clutch to see if its repairable? If it is, the money you would spend on the motor could go to upgrades to your engine.

Re: my x15 rebuild

well there is more, it leaks from the clutch side, i think i need to tape the screw and and put it back in, but the mounts on the motor has chunks of it gone, like where the bolt goes through, and i go through a crap load of mounting bolts with this motor. I did the math of buying the replacement covers and a clutch and stuff like that, and i think it would be just better to buy a new motor. Plus the gearing wire is ripped off, the electric start don't work, and the battery charger in the motor don't work.

Re: my x15 rebuild

Don't buy that motor. For about another $30 you can get a brand new 125cc with 26mm mikuni, intake, air filter, kick start, and shifter

Re: my x15 rebuild

just look on ebay for those lifan engines, as garsnow said you can find them complete with everything needed to ride. and their faster than the stock engines, but the biggest thing you will see is faster accleration.

Re: my x15 rebuild

yea there easy to remove. The rear one you just take of the brake caliper, chain and unscrew the nuts and just slide it back. The front one you gotta pull that metal bar out and just it slide right out.

Re: my x15 rebuild

Ok i got the tires off today and i cleaned them, and im waiting for my brother gets home, but i prepped them with sum steel wool to get the hard to get grease off, and im goin to clean the frame too, if everything works out im buying fivestarsky's 125cc motor.

This project is turning out to be fun and aggrivating at times. lol

Re: my x15 rebuild

That's a pretty good deal you got on the bike.
Sorry about the motor from fivestar. That truley sucks! i don't like people that do things like that.It says something about their character.

I wish i could help you in the motor department. Some of the 110's i have lying around i don't know the conditions of them(plus i want to build a 110cc race bike)The current race bike has a bigger motor in it. I will keep an eye out for you if i see something and it's good.
