March Bike Of The Month

Ok guy's. here is the official thread to add a picture or two and a story about your bike for the March Bike Of The Month Contest.

This contest will be just for fun, unless the winner would like a custom signature image or something along those lines.

The winning bike / bikes will also get a spot in the new Bike of the month winners section that I'll create soon.

I've been trying to think of what the contest should be, farthest from stock, in other words "most customized" came to mind, but I want to hear what you guys think would be best.

(Rules)

No Cheating - getting caught cheating will mean removal from the contest and being disallowed from entering future contests.

One entry per member.

No Photoshopped photos.

No having friends sign up to vote, I want current members to be the voters.

The March contest ends April 1st.

Re: March Bike Of The Month

I'm assuming no PhotoShopped images means no collages, too, right?

Aw, hell, I'll start - it's not like you guys haven't seen this bike before.

The Re-Cycle: a full-on custom mini bike powered by a stock 47cc Cag engine. The entire bike is made up of scrap metal.

FRAME AND FORKS: Tire irons and 1/4" plate. Frame spacers are bicycle kickstands. Wheel mounts are chopped-down training wheel mounts from child's bicycle.
ENGINE: stock 47cc air-cooled two-stroke engine from wrecked Cag/Daytona.
TRANSMISSION: CVT from 49cc X-1 pocketbike
EXHAUST: Custom-built "shorty" exhaust (2" long) with Tecumsah can muffler.
FUEL TANK: Stock Cag/Daytona gas tank, secured to frame by 1/4" box-end wrenches.
FOOTPEGS: Ends stolen from fireplace set.
SPECIAL FEATURES: Just look!

Re: March Bike Of The Month

Hmmm, I never really liked the whole one picture thing, so if you want to use any photo editing software to put a few pictures together that would be fine, What I am talking about is, no fixing up paint, removing scratches, adding things that aren't really there etc.

Re: March Bike Of The Month

Come on, you clowns. A lot of you were asking and/or complaining about this contest not being continued. Now it's being continued and no one is posting any pictures of their bikes? Tell me how this works ....

Nick, it may be that no one is interested again. Does that mean I may be the default winner of the month, since I'm the only one who bothered posting a picture of my bike?

Whats the deadline date for this. I have a few things left to do on my bike but if there is some time I will try and rush it in for this.

Re: March Bike Of The Month

I think we could get away with a March 31st entry deadline, and on April 1st I'll open up the voting, I would like to see everybody who wanted to enter have enough time to get ready.

Re: March Bike Of The Month

Nick, I was thinking about this ..... what about having the voting done a little earlier, and featuring the winning bike done on the last day of the month? Say people get to enter their bikes up until ... idk, maybe the 20th of the month, voting from the 20th to the next-to-last day, then the feature bike being shown on the last day of the month. That way you're not voting on last month's bike .... Twenty days of entries, ten (or so) days of voting, final day for the winning entry being showcased .... what d'ya think?

(And I'm STILL the only entry in the contest so far .... Blitz, pull out the pics of your chopper, anyway.)

Re: March Bike Of The Month

spy, i feel your fustration
and if we had alot of entries then i could see making the cut off the 20th, but since the intrest is low right now i think we gotta keep it open till a set number of entries is had
there will be more bikes as the warmer weather comes

Nothin' fancy, very plain. Not much into the flashy style.

Still a work in progress. Wanted to show something though. I might take some night pics to show of the leds. 10 all around the bike plus 6 in each headlight.

This was the first time I have ever painted a bike. My other 2 are at a friends shop he is dragging his heels. So I started myself on this one.

Re: March Bike Of The Month

Ill add one of my bikes.....Its an X-18 converted to stuntbike.....Its modified in every way, runs like a raped ape and done for under $325.00 and thats with buying the bike for $100.00...Key features on the bike are rear fold down stuntpegs gleamed from an X-1,,unbreakable levers,,dual rear brake calipers;-1 is a handbrake to control wheelies..As you can see its far from being a plain old X-18....

Re: March Bike Of The Month

My friend got caught by the cops today on the bike we built.

Ok so i was biking on my pedal bike after him, and saw a cop go by i was like OH **** i called my friend but it was too late. The officer made me get my parents. My dad came and we had a talk. He said someone called complaining about a noise. He said he doesnt know the laws but he told us to look them up and make sure. He was cool though he was just doing his job and he let us go.

Where am i supposed to go now? My driveway?

Got the whole thing on tape with the go pro HD headcam. Yeah!!

Anyways ill be submitting that bike.
