Take a small 12v trickle charger(found at any store..wal-mart cheap).......take the fuse cap off......clamp the positive lead onto the fuse....making sure the fuse stays in contact in it's holder...now clamp the ground to an engine bolt.......plug up the charger to a power source and let it charge for a few hours.
or you can do the same thing if you track down the battery leads and make a set of easy access plugs for them for future charging
and johnleitch man you do not have a clue can't even spell the word. there is no magneto on these engines....the e-starter just generates a small current when the engine turns a certain rpm range.

So Mike are you going to answer me or just give out info to confuse and mislead people. I am waiting to hear how you could be 99% sure of something and not have a clue at the same time.

Holy **** bud, take it easy. Who ****ed in your cornflakes? Your last two posts would make anyone want to hand you your ***. There are nicer ways to respond to someone's misguidance.

well...

Stator, armature, generator, who cares... it has a very limited charging capability none the less, and works as the starter...

But alas, removing it, the lights and all other related wiring was fun, took off a bunch of weight, increased acceleration, I like it this way.

If the battery is not fully charged when you get the bike, it's likely that it never will be, or hold a decent charge...

ricktx why are you cursing at me? I am not the one that is telling people that the bikes are something they are not. I asked the guy to give up how he is 99% about a stator on these bikes and he was online when I asked the first time...... SuhpaPhly there is a big difference between 3 components you stated...who cares.....I do about people spreading ignorance.
my last post on this matter.
have a nice day.

Backwoodz,

You are exactly right, I could have used a better choice of words in my reply...

For that I apologise to you, and anyone else pertaining to this thread, though my reply was not directed at your post previous to this one, I should have taken it into consideration before replying...

Take care!

It chargers by turning the e-starter with the crank as a generator. There is no alternator or stator on these bikes.

There is no charge going to the battery on a X7 per the owners manual. It states
"You will need to charge your battery after every 2 days of riding" The battery runs the front headlights and turns the starter.
