Ebay Li-ion battery packs

Has anyone tried these?? I was thinking as a replacement to stock or overvolted Razor pocket bikes and dirt bikes.
I want to try one on my stock MX500 before I start to modify it. Also wanted to use it on my 36v PR200. The sla's suck as most of you know. I do not want to go li-po.

Now why are you saying their trash? Because they're made in China? I'm not trying to defend them or anyting oh, just trying to figure it out. Probably 80% of those lawn mower batteries are made in China, now I do understand there is quality control with some brands. There is definitely good China made and bad China made. I'm just curious why you have the opinion you do?

becaus they are made with china cells and once one goes bad or week it depends on the remaining good cells to take up the slack then with the added stress the entire pack fails

and trust me on this those china cells are JUNK!!!! Expect one quarter of the life of an equivalent Panasonic cell...

no i start with premium cells and build from scratch or have them made by MaxAmps those budget packs are onley good for testing purposes or for something like a battle bot where its going to end up destroyed i mean come on those packs you linked to dont even have good plugs it comes with a deans knock off...

if you use a good charger like the ones for RC you will all so see they will onley hold about half the capacity they say as well...

here is a pic of the guts of a trash pack

use them as is with there charger you are going to need to get some extra chargers to cut up and make adaptors to put on your bike then you get to use the batterys on your bike lawn mower snow blower and utilize the warranty if you have a battery go bad

Seems like this thread got a lil off the beaten path......You pay for cheap quality batteries you get chitty results...…What mainly makes them fail is improper useage aswell as the internal valve failing to do its job aswell as plates being made of lead alloy instead of pure lead..

That's why the biggest expense of a Tesla model 3 isn't the dual drive motors,Its the battery 100%...

Look up what the manufacturers of Zero dirtbikes and motorcycles uses for batteries....Also look up Mighty Max Boashi…….

Those e-lawnmower batteries offer mostly odd voltages like 18,20,40,52,60,80 and 82 volts...The higher the voltae the lower the amps with those batteries unfortunately

The only ones viable are the 18 and the 60volt and both only punches out like 4-5.0 amps of power..To even get 15 amps youre gonna have to hook 3 batts together in a parallel fashion at 5 amps each..

5 amps in a single battery is pretty low for producing proper voltage for a brushless motor in need of higher amps in the 22-33 amp range.............

https://www.amazon.com/Electric-Brus...7ZK7PGZCKK5BZ7

Whats gonna help boost the extra amps that are needed ither than linking 6-7 of those batteries together..?

I have a handful of the Razor dirt bikes and pocket bikes. Right now I was really interested in getting rid of the sealed lead acid and going lithium ion. I do not want to go Lithium Polymer. Thought I could get a more economical battery that was a little bit more pricey than sealed that acid but would just be over all better.

thats problem with electric vehicles once the battery goes it becomes very exspeisve like the toyota prius they all where bragging about how mutch money they where saveing on fuel then the battery goes bad and the car ends up in the junk yard

its starting to happen to Teslas now to

You lose all of your fuel savings when you have to replace the battery in your electric vehicle on top of feeling like an idiot because you wasted all that time standing around at the charging stations waiting for your vehicle to charge up then where are the green earth people going to dump the caustic nasty battery are they going to bury it in the ground the Chinese just dump it into the sea that's going to save the turtles.

Now that my rant is over with the truth about batteries is you can buy a cheap battery three times where you can buy a good battery once the battery is the most expensive part of the vehicle Cam2 is 100% correct My ERevo was 600$ and the batteries to run that RC truck are about 300$ a set in my RC boat the batteries actually cost more than the boat itself a couple of my drones are that way as well

I'm was in the same boat I had a bunch of electric rideables with failed battery's I gave all of it away the only thing I kept around is a little stand-up E scooter

I have 9 gas pocket bikes, three gas mini bikes, 2 gas dirt bikes, but none of those are allowed in my subdivision. Sometimes I can sneak around at night with some of the quieter ones, the small horsepower mini bikes. That's why I have the electrics. Two Electric Dirt Bikes, two electric pocket bikes, an electric scooter, and 2 electric mini choppers. I have been making my sealed lead acid last three to four years but I was looking for less weight easier to charge. Even though they've lasted that long I can never seem to get them over 14 volts. With anything, and I don't really want to buy an expensive 4 stage charger, and charge all those batteries one by one. I get it that's the best way to do it. I have some 2s LiPO batteries for a couple small RC cars but I just don't really like messing with those. At this point it sounds like that might be my best bet. Most of my electric rideables are over volted.
