110cc Atv

Hi I have a 110cc automatic atv and it won’t shift out of reverse. I can go from neutral to reverse and it goes in reverse, but I can’t shift from reverse to neutral without turning off the engine first.

Re: 110cc Atv

change the oil and slow down the idle if this doesn't fix it you have a internal transmission problem my friend has one and he has to rock it back and forth to get it out of reverse

dont even think about taking the engine apart yourself unless you know what your doing you will turn it into a basket case parts literally fall out onto the ground once you take that cover off let the chines jigsaw puzzle began.

Re: 110cc Atv

I bought a pretty beat-up Tao Tao buggy cart 110cc full auto w/reverse for $10 bux ..It wouldnt go into neutral or forward plus had a busted shifter linkage and because of that wouldnt start up either which worked in my favor utilizing a masterful bargaining technique in order to get it so cheap...LOL

I took off the transmission cover and found a loose nut rolling around inside....I put it back on & really tightened it and it worked good as new then I fixed the busted shifter linkage..

Sold it a few days later for a quick n easy $200.00....

If it wasnt so twisted rusty and hammered-on I probably would of kept it or sold it for more $$$ modded.....LOL

Good Luck

Whats funny is when I bought the Tao Tao the people told me that it started as a slight problem in which they had to rock it back n forth then a month or two later it jambed up......

It seems if youre really rough on them especially switching from reverse to neutral and forwards thats how the smooth shifting ability starts to get muffed up....

After I bought and was loading it in my pickup the kid was telling me his friend was going in reverse then popping it into neutral then forwards as it was still rolling backwards trying to do power wheelies.....

It seems that you have to go easy in reverse and make a full complete stop when going from reverse to forwards and vice versa.........

cool now we know reverse dropping it is definitely what breaks it its only a matter of time until people that are hard on stuff start trying it
