Re: extended swingarm for x19

Forget PBU, I have a 2008 X18, very hard to find frame or body parts since they are no made anymore. Most people make their own swing arm from the stock one.

Welcome to the forum....

The X15/19 rear swingarm is pretty tricky to extend without boxing it in seeings its mainly a C-channel construction.........

Best bet is getting a pitbike rear swingarm and modding it to fit..

Even if PBU was still doing rear extended swingarms they would tell you its gonna take 10-12 weeks to make and another week to ship it out plus they'll want you to send them your rear swingarm first because all they'll do is extend yours by melding two swingarm together then sending it back to you.......

If you want a lil longer swingarm than in the picture look into the CRF70 extended swingarm.........

Its not a pitbike...Its a KX125 rear swingarm...Its not a plug n play install either...The trunions needed to be milled thinner and then I modded both trunions to house 3 stacks of roller bearings in each trunion for the swingarm pivot.......

The X18 rear swngarm WONT fit...It has a bar with roller bearings that connects the left and right side of the frame together.........

If you go on the PBU website you should be able to easily tell that the X15/19 rear swingarm isnt compatable with an X18 and Vice versa............

Stop trying PBU...Its a lost cause..They havent done legitimate business since 2007/2008...........

The website is there just to generate $$ from internet traffic.

You can try doing the KX 125 rear swingarm.....The hardest part youre gonna find is deciding on how much to cut from each side then finding the bearings to go where the dirtbike swingarn bearings go which will need to be slightly bored out a lil larger and with a lip left to trap the bearing on one side so they dont slide all the way through rendering the rear swingarm to shift side to side slightly and you dont want that with a dragbike..

Another thing youll have to do is make a reducer/slider setup so you can use the stock rear axle in the wider slider area on the dirtbike swingarm...........

Back when I did my dragbike in 08 I already had the rear swingarm and my dad still had his machine shop so for me it was easy to choose the budget build route............

Also on my dragbike I didnt use a shock,,,,The rear was locked solid with a static bar that looked like a shock........

If I can find my build book I can find out the bearings I used but Im almost certain they were either wheel bearings for a cag or an X1...Im pretty sure they were rear wheel bearings from an X1 with the 12mm axle............

Id go with the CRF70 extended swingarm from T-Bolt....Its around the same ballpark price as the PBU unit maybe even cheaper..............

The best part about the t-bolt unit is it will literally bolt right in with the easy fabrication of some spacers also to mention being substantially lighter than the PBU unit because on a dragbike every pound shed adds to launch aswell as acceleration....

Another point to touch upon is the chain and sprockets.......

I used a #428 o-ring chain....It has about 700lbs more strength than the 420 chain because the links on the 428 chain are a lil thicker so it will take the hit of the launch alot better also due to the help the o-rings provide aswell.

Re: extended swingarm for x19

Real drag bikes don't have a rear shock, just extended rear arms with braces and a wheelie bar.

Then I found out some how some way this guy shove a 225 yamaha dirt bike motor in a x19... Only problem was no room for the gas tank an battery... He had the 225 gauges on an working an only wanted 300 I bout it but with the ugly exhaust I had to hear it run... He rig up some gas bottle jump it off took the battery a loose an rode it then told me to ride it. Its got a 110 dirt bike rear swingarm modded of course. But everything was align an freaking insane fast... Don't know how safe this is but gonna be fun till I get hurt. I just got to fin some where to put the battery an a gas tank to fit under the cover

Re: extended swingarm for x19

Killer, I like it, its a little Crazy, but aren't we all, lol. Put a gas tank in the tail section behind your seat. To bad its not a kick start. Might need a small Lipo battery for starting. I paid $22 for a 12v. 8,000 mAhr. or about 8 amps I believe its about 1/5 the size of a reg motorcycle battery.

Re: extended swingarm for x19

Put a Honda NSR gastank or a Yamaha YSR gastank..Maybe a Derbi or Metrakit.....It wont take much to get it to work....

The X15 was modeled after the Benelli Tornado Tre 1100.

If thats gonna be your dragbike you only need as much fuel as it takes to go from A to B and back ...A cag tank RTV'd to the tank cover will work good..........
