Re: New to the game

You have two FS-509 49cc Cateye midbikes with 2 stroke piston ported engines..

You need to pull the rear brake handle to disable the safety interlock and activate the starter before it can be triggered with the starter pushbutton...

To bypass the safety interlock cut the wire from the rear brake handle and simply twist them together...……..

First thing I'd do is find the fuse and replace the whole thing;- holder and all with a weatherproof ATC type as the Chinese fuse holders are highly problematic....

If the starter will still not trigger do a continuity test on the starter pushbutton as they oxidize and rust-up easily inside and can be disassembled to be cleaned-up too...

The plug you're pointing out may be a a battery charger plug as those bikes came with a very problematic and crappy 3 prong battery charger that overcharges the battery...……..

Good Luck

I posted the picture of my beautiful mess lol. I'm so lost I've been touching wires to see what happens I even pull the back and the front break lever when I try to start it to see if it will start. The red wire that isn't connected it will blow the fuse if I touch it to the positive the Yello wire makes a bussing sound when I connect it the positive the white wire that's wrapped up will try and start the bike when I touch it to the positive the blue wire i have no clue what it dose. What do I need to do to get it the bike working with the electric start

Re: New to the game

Heres an easy to follow and complete in under an hour to get the starter and charging system working then if desired can wire-in the lighting later..

That's basically the way I have this thing wired up except with the addition to a mini servo to push the pushbutton...

It has the same engine as on your cateye…..

This is my homemade R/C buggy made with bits n pieces from a Cateye and a miniquad attached to a custom-made steel frame..The ower to weight ratio of this thing is ridiculous when compared to the power to weight ratio of a $300k sports car and it costed me $280.00 and 28 days to build...……......lOL

Its just a bit more modified with almost 5x more HP...………

Im pretty sure that would be the blue wire...…….It goes to a positive connection.

The yellow is the rectifier wire that goes on the screw terminal on the solenoid that goes to the starter motor as the starter motor doubles as a generator too......
