X-18 Wiring problem HELP!

I recently bought an X-18 that I’ve been searching for so long and the only thing it “needed” was a ignition key because the one they had was hacked and all broken up. So i ordered a ignition key with a female adapter from amazon and a battery. Took the pocket bike fairings off and saw the wiring looks like it’s never been touched because it still had the zip ties on the frame and everything connected. The bike looked like it’s been sitting outside for a while so i wanted to clean it and i ended up disconnecting the wires trying to find the old ignition switch and took everything apart to clean but also get ready for the new switch and well when it came i tried reconnecting all the switches and when I turned the key the ignition switch started to burn up so i turned it off, disconnected the battery and started troubleshooting to see what went wrong before i mess with it i just need some guidance to make sure i don’t burn the wiring harness. Some wires match up colors and some don’t they all have the female and male adaptors on them to just plug and play but like i said some colors just don’t match. If anyone has a wiring diagram or even a picture of their own x18 wiring with everything connected would be really helpful!!!
I would post a picture of how it looks but the site won’t let me yet thank you.!!

Re: X-18 Wiring problem HELP!

Does the ignition have 4 wires? One pair would be for connecting the magneto ignition to ground to shut the bike off. The other pair would be for connecting the battery to the other circuits when you turn it on.

If they somehow got reversed you could be connecting the battery to the magneto ground. That'd burn up a switch ...

Yes it’s a 4 pin female adaptor ignition switch and i still had the old original one that split into two pin female adaptors so what i did was disconnect the new female 4 pin and connected it to the old two pin female because the harness i had didn’t have a female 4 pin for the ignition switch it’s so confusing 😞 the wires are (Green,Red, black white, and black) i have a green and red but no black white and black wire left over

You should be useing a x18 switch as for the colors of the wires they don't mean to mutch because the Chinese just use what ever wire they have

Have ya got an ohm meter? Like Kitty says, the wire colors are no help. Checking for what gets connected to what is the only way to really know.

If I had to guess, Red is probably connected to the battery. Green is ground the world around, but that may not include China! One of the other two will be connected to the ignition coil. The last one will power up whatever electrics the bike may have on it.
